Jay Kisley: Avoiding prisonA 38-year-old man who admitted possessing an offensive weapon has been spared a prison sentence.Sean Corrigan, of Dumfries Road, in Douglas, pleaded guilty at Kirkcaldy Sheriff Court to behaving in a threatening or abusive manner towards others at 18 Dundas Street, the High Street, Douglas, on March 28.He also admitted resisting a constable in the execution of their duty and not having a drug test kit.Sheriff Charles MacNair gave him a six-month prison sentence suspended for two years. He also placed him on a one-year supervised community payback order and disqualified him from driving for two years.
