This unusual gold, pearl and cameo tiara was made by Napoleon Bonaparte for the Empress Josephine. Josephine's son from her first marriage inherited it, and gave it to his daughter Josefina, who married the King of Sweden, which is how it ended up in Swedish royal family hands.
It doesn't photograph well from a distance (because you can't see the details of the cameos from a crowd), but up close it's stunning.
It's estimated that the cameos would have taken a year to carve.
The cameo on the left features the goddess Ceres, and on the right, Venus playing with Cupid
Queen Silvia wore the tiara on her wedding to King Carl Gustav, and their daughter Crown Princess Victoria also wore it on her wedding day.
