The Power of Positive Affirmation

The Power of Positive Affirmation

There are varieties of verses in the scripture that talked about the usage of the tongue. The place of positive affirmation cannot be overemphasized. A much more emphasis were laid in the Book of Proverbs in regards to the power of speaking positively. A wholesome tongue is a tree of life and the tongue of the wise useth knowledge aright. It's therefore important to use our tongue well and in wisdom.

Proverbs 18:21 - Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof.

The fruits we bear are determined by the words we speak. Words are powerful, they are like forces that creates matter. You cannot be addicted to negative speaking and expect to produce right results in your life.

Proverbs 21:23 - Whoso keepeth his mouth and his tongue keepeth his soul from troubles.

Our affirmation is like keys that opens certain doors of our lives. Therefore, the keys (words) we use determines the doors (matter) that opens, including doors to success or failure.

SPEAKING POSITIVELY IN THE MIDST OF ADVERSITIES

The Psalmist says,. Yea tho I walk through the valley, I SHALL FEAR NO EVIL". We too are obliged to apply this Davidic approach.

Let us consider our heroes in positive affirmation

Let the weak say, "I AM STRONG" (Joel 3:10)

● Abraham would always say, "The Lord will provide."

● Jacob in prayer will utter, "I won't let go of You unless You bless me."

● Joshua would say, "As for me and my house, we shall serve the Lord."

● Nehemiah would affirm, saying, "The joy of the Lord is my strength."

● Solomon would say, "Trust in the Lord, oh my soul, and lean not on your own understanding, in all your ways acknowledge Him and He shall direct your path."

● Isaiah would say, "Arise and shine for my Glory has come." and "No weapon formed against me shall prosper."

● Jeremiah would say, "The Lord has plans to prosper me and not to harm or fail me."

● Jabez cried, "Oh Lord, that you may bless me and enlarge my territory."

● Ezekiel would say, "Any dry bones in my life, live again."

In the same manner, we are called to call back the dry bones of our lives into life by resurrecting it from death.

A SHORT STORY ON AFFIRMATION

My friend intimated a story with me, it's a story about a Chinese Scientist and a motivational speaker. He decided one day to carry out an experiment with three cups half-filled with water with the same amount of substance in each.

He said to the first cup, "You are beautiful". To the second, he said, "you are less pretty". And to the last, he said, "you are nothing". He continued this act for the next thirty days and decided to evaluate them. And these were his results:

The first cup have filled with water had it's substance produce sweet smell. The second produced mucus with a rotten smell while the third decayed. He therefore concluded that there is power in positive affirmation.

Finally, Romans 10:10 says, For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.

Faith is speaking what be not as though they were; bringing forth the seen from the unseen. Fill your heart with God's Word for out of the abundance of the heart, the mouth speakeths. Choose your daily statement of faith. Meditate on it and Confess it often! With that, you shall enjoy the fruits of life.
