Introduction: returning to the essence untamed

As I was writing my intro, I must have gotten a bit carried away. At the end, posting it became impossible due to lack of resource credits needed for such a long article. A bit frustrated, I was very tempted to run and buy some Hive power, but being located in the U.S. made it impossible to use Blocktrades since this lovely country’s policies are becoming more and more peculiar when it comes to crypto exchanges and other non mainstream ways of dealing with money. Of course it must be possible to acquire Hive on another exchange, but I do not have it all set up, so I am postponing it to a later time when I have more time and my laptop available.

So here I am again, and I will try to be a little more concise — at least in the beginning 😊

Like I said, I live in the United States, in the mostly sunny Southern California to which nature has finally brought some refreshing rains earlier this week.

My birth and ethnic origins lie somewhere in Russia and Eastern Europe (where I grew up), and my social and cultural backgrounds are varied. I fluently speak two languages — English and Russian. I can communicate in basic Spanish and understand some Italian. I currently feel very drawn to learn Irish and Islandic because many of my interests lead me to those regions of the world which were inhabited by the Celts.

I have a degree in general anthropology. I love reading books and diving in different philosophical schools of thought. Sometimes I write poetry and draw. That said, I also take interest in science.

I love all things nature — being outdoors, growing my own veggies, backpacking in the woods, learning survival skills, fishing, climbing trees, tending to animals.

I am not affiliated with any church or organized religion, but I take interest in studying all of them while trying to stay objective and respectful of their traditions and their followers. I have my own ways and my own beliefs, but if I had to name them, it would be difficult. It’s a personal path of discovery and spiritual growth.

I am most interested in both very basic, daily experiences that one might find banal AND things that exist way beyond normal human perception, such as magic. No, not the magic tricks performed on stage; I mean actual magic as in being able to perceive things, manipulate energies, levitate, feel spirits, see dragons, et cetera.

I do understand that most rational human beings will find it immature and ridiculous, but here is the reality of my life: one thing that I want the most is to be true to myself. If this requires me to look for real elves, druids, and dragons without fear of being laughed at or seen as a psycho, then so be it.

P.S. Here is a random photo from yesterday’s walk. Rainy and gloomy, told you :) It doesn’t even look like California, it reminds me more of Russia. I am determined to use my own images for future posts to keep this blog genuine, but we’ll see how it goes.
