Belated Introduction

My name is Jon, I'm 26, have a son who is 19 months old and, though I have had an account for over a year now and wrote one post, I am very new to the steemit community. I got over zealous and overwhelmed myself, then dropped off for a while. But, I'm back and have been writing articles to have on standby for some time now so I can try and put a steady feed of subject matter out. I am very excited to learn. I've found that when I write a post (usually by hand the first time around) I learn so much. For me, I write not really to share with other people (which is a great by product) but for myself to learn. I love reading other peoples posts and articles for the same reason. It's cliche, but the more I learn, the more I realize how little I actually know and it's humbling and motivating. It just makes me want to learn more and see more points of view. Disagreements are amazing to me because as long as their handles constructively, the potential to learn and root out other ideas and solutions is tremendous. Almost all the posts I've written so far (all in the raw paper and pen form as of now) are written for myself to learn but also to try and start a conversation. This is my hope, that my writing about a certain topic will start a conversation about solutions and different ways to do things. It is easy to complain and state an issue, the hard part is finding a solution. And I want to find solutions more than anything next to learning more. The point of an argument or debate is not to win, but to find another way. To find common ground to move forward on and find a way to go about an issue that abides by non-aggression principals and respects everyone's divine rights, because that's not always an easy thing to do. I'm also have a huge respect for Universal Laws. I hope that I can contribute, even if only in a small way, to a world that some day will be structured by Universal Law, the Non-aggression principal and Voluntaryism, not jack boot style authoritarianism. Or any authoritarianism for that matter. I listen to a lot of podcasts and have for years. I suppose now, I'm to the point where listening isn't enough. It never was but it took me to recent times and much looking at my son to realize it. Listening is not enough and I want to help, I want to do my part, I want to do my best to leave a better world for my child and everyone's children. Perhaps it will be a small part, maybe it will be a medium sized or even large part but I need to do something, anything, to help get us to the kind of world and society so many of us talk about. So, this is a part of what I'm trying to give to that cause. And I hope I can contribute to the steemit community in a constructive manner, I hope you all enjoy my posts and I look forward to enjoying your's.
