QUIT STALLING & JUST START!

80% of SUCCESS is showing up.
I don’t know what will happen next but here I am, and I’m showing up!

Hello! I’m Karissa, born and raised in the Philippines,
a graduate of a degree in Fisheries but I’m no scientist
(yep, that’s possible!) and I'm just enjoying the #islandlife.

Before I bore you, I just want to leave this right here: I am genuinely happy and excited to be part of this community (s/o to @wilynethcantong for the invite!).
And please bear with me, this won’t be lengthy (*pats self). HELLO STEEMIT!

BEING OUTSIDE IN THE OPEN scares me the most. But hey, life’s a done deal anyway and I’ve noticed is that the more you acknowledge this to yourself, the scary part goes away.

BUT MY HEART BEATS FOR THE OCEAN! I’m an open-water diver. Relative and opposite to my previous lines, yes, I enjoy going deep down several meters below. Having told that I’m no scientist, I still bear the heart for what comprises the majority of our raw food source: the ocean. I think it’s safe to say that even though I only came because of curiosity, I stayed for the cause. And if I had to do it all over again, I’d still choose the same choices…every time.

MINIMALIST PROJECT PH – is both a movement and a lifestyle. A few years back, I started this simple brand of basic wear, photographs, video stories and creative designs showcasing simplicity being the ultimate form of sophistication. Less is more. Sometimes, a few words are more than enough.

FILM. Back in 2016, I came across the epic #filmisnotdead art awareness. Not long after, I got my very first film camera from a thrift shop and also found very awesome mentors (thank you @saiyanide and Lala!) and before I got the gist of what was happening, I had my first used, 36 shots of 35mm film roll, developed! It was a defining moment of having found another fuel source for my starving creative soul.

When Einstein once said, "Everybody is a genius. But if you judge a fish by its ability to climb a tree, it will live its whole life believing that it is stupid", he’s wasn’t making stuff up! We all have our unique niche (unique adaptations) and we should be busy doing what we love and just that. Bahala’g dugay basta kanunay, as we often say it in our native dialect (slow progress is still progress and if you’re doing what you love, it doesn’t matter anyway).

What does your heart really say? (for the lack of a better way to end this post. Ha, Ha.) So basically, that’s it. I hope you often have the drive to pursue the scary stuff and win at life. Adventure is out there!

Chase the sunsets.
