My Evolution From Freelance To Cryptocurrency

Hello everyone!

I am a newbie here, so first of all I would like to introduce myself and tell the short story of mine, which I hope will be interesting to you, maybe even beneficial to some extent.

Let me start from the very beginning. I have always been a bookworm, so I did not hesitate a lot with the choice of my future profession. Literature and languages were the natural choice.

So I decided to study foreign languages which included English, French, Greek and Latin (just in case you are curious my native language is Ukrainian). These were exciting years of student life. And when telling “exciting”, I mean not only crazy adventures which each student has, but also I really enjoyed the educational process as that was the sphere I really liked.

All these years were really nice but after my university was finished, I understood that real life is quite different and reading novels is not going to feed me, it can rather be a hobby than actual occupation. So, then I started to try myself in different spheres where my knowledge of foreign languages could be useful.

I think you already guessed in which sphere I was working, of course it was tourism. During that period of life I was working in airlines, travel agencies etc… and I must say it was good. Each of these jobs had some pluses and minuses but what I liked the most, I could travel a lot and for free, meeting new people, learning a lot of new interesting facts and just developing myself.

Why did I move Turkey?

After a year or so another big change happened in my life. I met my husband. He is originally Turkish, so after some time we decided to move and live in Turkey. Mostly, is was dictated by economical condition as he could get much better job in Turkey.

So, I moved to Turkey and I started to search for a job too but due to the fact that I am foreigner, it is was not that much easy. Yes, of course, there were a lot of job suggestions but there was nothing what I could call interesting or at least acceptable. That time I actually got involved into deep ocean of freelance business.

A little bit about my freelancing career...

I heard about freelance during my student years and I even created profiles on some websites but I really did not keep too much attentions to that. So, I updated my profiles, passed some tests, created some samples and sit down waiting that millions of suggestions will fall on me. But it was not that easy.

My each day was starting with a cup of coffee and checking all freelancer sites I was registered at. Each day I was applying more and more jobs but no answer, no any single sign of interest in me, no any single interaction. Months passed and I got really discouraged and disappointed. I almost gave up. I was checking my profiles more and more rare.

But then, one day, it appeared like a ray of sun among the clouds. I opened that website and saw a message, it was a job offer. It was really small job, I had to make short translation for one company. I do not remember right now what was the exact budget, I think it was something like 3 USD more or less. And no, it is not a misprint, it was really around 3 USD but you cannot imagine how happy I was, like I won a million jackpot in the lottery. I was as diligent as never, I checked and rechecked that translation dozens of times.

This job gave me new hope and inspiration. It was like a push for my freelance career. In a few days I got one more job from the same company and some time after I started to get offers from other companies.

I am freelancer for 7 years already. During these years I worked with different companies and performed different kind of jobs for them, I had small as well as long-term contracts. The most outstanding and the one I am actually so proud of is the contract with world’s largest search engine Google. It was really great experience for me. It was not only good source of income but also their team showed me different world, they showed me internet life from different side, they helped me to grow professionally. But that is quite different topic and we will not enter into it today.

How I got involved in cryptocurrency

Let me make the story short as I believe you are not that much interested to read about all my employers and what kind of job I did for them, so I will skip that and move directly to the point. My main specialization is translation. I was making different kinds of translation but then I noticed that cryptocurrecy topic got very popular and I was getting more and more crypto related translations. Of course, there were a lot of unknown terms which I have never met before, so naturally I had to make some research to understand what they are and how they should be translated.

Slowly slowly, I even did not notice when but I got involved in cryptocurrency. My husband was interested in that topic too and actually he started to learn about it much earlier than me, so that gave me another push to study and investigate this topic more.

After we got some knowledge, we tried ourselves on exchanges. I cannot say that our first experience was very successful. Well, the only thing I can advice here is: make a trial with small amount of money, just to see how it works, just to understand the process. After few trials, you will get the system and maybe even earn your fist money.

Of course, it is not that much easy, you have to be very careful and read a lot of information before, watch thousands of videos and follow all crypto related news but as soon as you get into the process, you will understand it is worth all your efforts.

We actually spent a lot of time on exchanges and after we earned some
money there, we bought our first RIG.

I'm glad I started to learn about cryptocurrency, it is great to be part of it. I have learnt how exchange works and how you can actually trade, what does it mean digital currency and so on.
But the most important thing is that it helped me to be more financially independent, as thanks to RIG I get passive income each month. Of course, it is not as smooth as you may think and it has some issues too but we will talk about it in the next articles.

To sum up, I may say, one of the benefits of being a freelancer is that you are getting involved to all new trends, tendencies and revolutions, does not matter to which sphere they are related. Just do not give up!

Hope you enjoyed the article and my experience would be useful for you. Nowadays I am trying to learn more about cryptocurrency to educate myself, so I'll be glad if you can suggest me some other sources.
