A pleasant day to all hivers! This is charitabel. I am a new member here. I feel so lucky and very much thankful for knowing this platform from a good source and with the help of these wonderful and helpful people namely @missleray, @callmesmile and @indayclara and @naymhapz. I will take this great opportunity to engage and know other people all over the world, to learn new things from others, and to share my experiences, talents, and abilities with everyone.

Opportunity comes once. When you have it, don’t waste it. Grab it! Many are so blessed to have parents who are professionals, rich, and financially stable and can afford to support their children in their studies until college. Honestly, it made me jealous before. It was a bit unfair for me. Some of my batchmates did not pursue college because of a lack of interest even if their parents could afford to, and I who was very eager to continue my studies was not given a chance because of financial problems. I had no choice.

After graduating from High School I applied for a part-time job at White Gold Club in Cebu as a sales lady and I was hired and assigned to Houseware Department.

After 2 years, I got a phone call from my uncle Alfredo, who asked me if I was willing to study in college. I had never thought twice, and answered him very quickly with a big “YES!” I eventually wrote a resignation letter and gave it to my supervisor.

A big thanks to my uncle (my father’s cousin), his wife Auntie Fely, and their five children and they're all professionals who answered all my obligations in school. At first, I thought that being a working student was so easy but I was wrong. My niece and I did all the household chores.

Also, we are the ones who took good care of my aunt’s mother who was sick and aged 96 years old at that time but now she is already in Heaven. We also helped our aunt’s small business that she sold in the school canteen like ice candy, Polvoron, sliced ripe Papaya, mango, and fish balls. These are the reasons that we only had 5 to 6 hours of sleep almost every day even on weekends.

It was so tiring and I’d never experienced those things in our home. There were days and nights that I cried. Going to school in the morning very sleepy, walking like a “zombie” because of dizziness, haggardness, and big eye bags.

But because of my ambition to be a successful one and also because I did not want my brethren to experience the struggles and hardships that I had encountered as a working student, I always told myself this line “Which do I prefer, to sacrifice the four years of studies as a working student or suffer my whole life because I stopped my studies?” So I strived hard and doubled my efforts. Then the long wait is over.

Being a teacher

I was a Junior High School teacher in one of the private schools in Cawayan, Masbate for 3 years from S.Y. 2015-2016 up to S.Y. 2017-2018 and it served as my first experience in teaching as a licensed teacher. Since it was very far from my home place, and it took 6 hours of travel riding a ship, I rented a boarding house there in Belarmino’s residence, luckily it was located near in school where I was.

I am handling 7 sections every day and had 40 to 50 students in each section. Dealing with different characteristics of students, co-teachers, and staff. It was one of the happiest and most unforgettable moments that ever happened in my whole life. I thank God for giving me the strength to endure my three (3) years of contract together with my colleagues.

The year 2018, I started teaching in a public school up until now which is located near my home place. A new set of students, co-teachers, and staff to deal with again. I am very much thankful just like my first experience in private school. I met new friends and a new environment that made me more comfortable and happy.

Kudos to all teachers even though we are slowly drowning inside but still have that one grateful heart and a big smile for the betterment of our students.

My Parenting Journey

I am so grateful to God for giving us with my husband our wonderful baby girls. Ages 5, 4, and 2. They brought to our family so much joy and happiness. Being a mother of three was not easy for me,especially since my husband works in Manila. But still, I am thankful to God for giving me enough courage and strength to take good care of my children. Special thanks also to Ate Rosie for taking good care of my children during working days. Finding your passion is like discovering you by Dr. Prem Jagyase.

Cooking

I love cooking especially my favorite food and viands. It is a great achievement for me to cook a new recipe that I have watched on YouTube. I am so eager and can’t wait to buy the ingredients. I so loved to prepare food for my family.
