#Introduceyourself: Hi Steemit, I'm Aaron! Here's Why I'm Here

I decided to start writing my first Steemit post after lurking for months on another account.

My motivation came after reading about testimonials on how fellow Steemians turned their life around just by blogging on this platform.

My name is Aaron from Malaysia. I’m an entrepreneur and a huge believer of cryptocurrency and blockchain in general.

I have a simple yet important goal in Steemit — to generate enough value here so that I can finally retire my parents.

How I plan to contribute content to Steemit?

As I was planning this #introductionyourself post, I want to be clear on the kind of content I'm able to produce for the Steemit community. It was a struggle to decide as I have wore so many hats in life.

So I asked my friends in Facebook about the kind of topics I should write:

After talking to some close friends and family, someone reminded me that I like to teach and develop people. I’m all about helping people close to me to acquire the right mindset, attitude and strategy in life .. which boils down to this missions statement below:

I want my followers to achieve a fulfilled and productive life.
My target audience are millennials who wants to achieve more in life, whether in their career or their personal lives.

I have derived four content pillars that I’m aiming to develop content for Steemians:

4 Content Pillars:

  1. Authentic Life Lessons
This is where I will share the ups and downs in my own personal development journey in generating more wealth, health, happiness, and success in general.

  2. Explaining Cryptocurrency
I only have an intermediate understanding of crypto and blockchain, but I’m committed to continuously learn by teaching. Hopefully, my friends and followers would find my content helpful in grasping the significance of these innovations are for society.

  3. Entrepreneurship
I’ve never worked in the corporate world. What I do have is the experience of building small businesses — doing all the management, operations, marketing, sales by myself.

  4. Showcasing Malaysia
This country located in South East Asia is where I was born, raised, and currently based. The Steemit community deserves to be educated on the abundance of good food, beaches, highlands, rainforest, and shopping malls Malaysia has to offer.

Let me know at the comments if you agree with the direction of these content. I also accept new suggestions.

Origin Story

I grew up in a financially challenged household. That circumstance alone should pushed me to be more entrepreneurial in life.

But it didn’t.

I was living a life of mediocrity up until I was 21 years old.

Something changed in me when my parents showed me their vulnerability and inability in managing the financial affairs of our family.

Furthermore, my younger brother has autism. He would have more challenges than the average person to achieve independence in life.

I’m was and still is … their best hope to generate sustainable wealth back to the family.

Long story short, I became extremely self-driven, acquired some key skillsets that would eventually helped me to become self-sustainable through freelancing.

The capital and experience I gained from my freelancing career helped fuelled my entrepreneurship journey in establishing several small businesses in software development and digital media publishing.
