Information provided by the National Assembly
The inflation of September 2018 reached 233.3%, the highest index of the year registered by the Finance Committee of the National Assembly (AN). The deputy Juan Andrés Mejía reported that the daily average is 4% and the accumulated 82,043%.
Year-on-year inflation, from September 2017 to September of the current year, adds up to 342,161%, the parliamentarian indicated.
Mejía pointed out that inflation is so aggressive that it even impacts the income in dollars that a Venezuelan family can receive for remittances. "The devaluation of the hard currency has been 84% so far this year," he estimated.
The Finance Commission advised Venezuelans to invest in assets and not leave the money in the bank before the accelerated depreciation of the sovereign bolivar.
Mejía added that only in October, the Venezuelan government will have to pay 1,500 million dollars to different international creditors.
In August, inflation closed at 223.1%, according to the Finance Commission of the National Assembly. The figure implies that the price of goods and services increases at a rate of 4% daily.
"The hyperinflation skyrocketed days after the government's economic measures," said deputy Rafael Guzmán, members of the AN's Finance Committee on September 5. In his opinion, the devaluation of the national currency, the fixing of new and high prices and the increase of the minimum wage, increased the prices of the products.
With respect to the month of July, when it stood at 125%, in August the prices tripled. The national government continues to be left behind in the race against hyperinflation, because after the economic measures applied in the middle of that month the purchasing power of the Venezuelan continues to decline progressively.
The most recent economic "maneuver" of the Executive was announced by Nicolás Maduro on Thursday, October 4, when he reported that public employees will receive their salary every week "until November" to render them.
Personal opinion
This is reflected in the food shopping carts of all Venezuelans, just to see them shopping and see that what they take home are minimal things! ... At that time you analyze how people do these people to eat, as they do so that what they take to their homes reaches them to feed their family for at least a week !. They are strong things that thinks more of a Venezuelan, long faces, undernourished bodies are the normal of all Venezuela. So these numbers are that numbers because the reality is above these statistics.
