Ukwa (BreadFruit)

This is Ukwa which is known by it's English name as Bread Fruit in it’s raw and natural state. It’s very common that people ask what’s special about Ukwa and why it’s usually reserved and served to a very few important people at parties and events.
The simple answer anyone would give for that question is that ukwa is usually expensive.

*Yes expensive and why is Ukwa expensive?
*Do you have any ideas the process(s) ukwa goes through before it’s finally cooked and ready to serve?

While you’re thinking of an answer or reading other people’s comments, ponder on this;

Those our ancestors that some of is now condemn and view as evil once upon a time saw those things lying helplessly like they are now, picked one up, named made it, invented the the step by step processes of making food and snacks out of it
without any form of western education nor help of any kind by any oyibo man or woman.

Today Ukwa has become what it is because we have all resorted to believing that an ideal world is only where a child is born, couple of year later registered into school and then life continues in the classroom until they have graduated and next thing is office work as Lawyer, Accountant, pharmacist, banker etc.

Anyone who does not fall in that circle some of whom are farmers, herders, hunters etc who feed everyone is viewed as either unintelligent or unserious with life.
We all need food at the end of the day don’t we? But we refuse to encourage farming and production of food.

Like I’d always say, Foods can not be downloaded from computers, no matter how good you are with softwares..
