OpenAI writes a short article about Hive

I wanted to have some fun with OpenAI, as I've always been fascinating (and admittedly, a bit scared) by artificial intelligence. So I decided to give it a try and ask for an article on Hive. I quickly realized that I'd have to be a bit more precise regarding what I wanted, and came up with the following prompt :

Write an article about the Hive blockchain. In the first paragraph, discuss the Hive fork from Steem, after Just Sun's takeover. In paragraph 2, discuss Hive advantages as a blockchain. In the third one, talk about the Hive ecosystem (games, blogging, videos). Then, tell users how to keep their keys secure on Hive. Finally, write a conclusion about the future of Hive.

Here's the result, using text-davinci-002 model (GPT3):

Hive by OpenAI

The Hive blockchain is a fork of the Steem blockchain that occurred after Justin Sun’s takeover of the Steemit Inc. company. The fork was necessary in order to save the Steemit community from Justin Sun’s hostile takeover attempt. The Hive community decided to create a new blockchain that would be completely decentralized and not controlled by any one person or company.

The Hive blockchain has many advantages over other blockchains. One of the most important advantages is that it is completely decentralized. This means that there is no one person or company in control of the Hive blockchain. This is extremely important because it ensures that the Hive blockchain cannot be censored or shut down by any one entity. Another advantage of the Hive blockchain is that it is much more energy efficient than other blockchains. This is because the Hive blockchain uses a Proof of Stake consensus algorithm instead of a Proof of Work algorithm.

The Hive ecosystem is full of different applications and services that have been built on top of the Hive blockchain. These applications and services include games, blogging platforms, video sharing platforms, and many other types of applications. The Hive ecosystem is constantly growing and expanding. There are many different ways to earn Hive tokens. You can earn Hive tokens by posting original content on the Hive blockchain, by upvoting and commenting on other people’s content, or by participating in various Hive-related games and applications.

If you want to use the Hive blockchain, you will need to create a Hive account. You can do this by going to the Hive website and following the instructions. Once you have created a Hive account, you will need to generate a private key. This private key is what will allow you to access your Hive account. It is important to keep your private key safe and secure. You should never share your private key with anyone. If you lose your private key, you will lose access to your Hive account.

The Hive blockchain has a bright future. The Hive community is full of passionate and talented individuals. The Hive ecosystem is constantly expanding and growing. The Hive blockchain is a great platform for developers to build applications and services. If you are looking for a blockchain that is censorship-resistant and decentralized, then Hive is the perfect blockchain for you.

Thoughts about the result

Overall not bad at all, although some information is incomplete.

The first paragraph answers pretty well the prompt about the fork and its reasons, although not in much detail.

Second one focuses on decentralization, censorship and efficiency without looking too much at the technical advantages such as quick block time, account recovery, etc.

I hoped we would get names of Hive dApps in the third paragraph but nop, it still makes a decent job describing the ecosystem though.

Same here, I hoped to see Hive Keychain mentioned but try again. It misses the point on keys granularity as well, it looks more like a generic introduction on how to use blockchain keys.

Gotta love the conclusion though!

That was a fun experience. What do you think about it, let me know in the comments! =)
