We make our own life and every single thing that we do in actions and thoughts and words and then we need to be prepared to bear the consequences of that. In a book of Stephen Hawking, I had read this very beautiful para. If you dig the ground and remove the soil from there, the soil will pile up somewhere. So, one side if there is a hole created on the other side there is a pile. The soil will not disappear anywhere. So is the case with karma, the cause and effect. Every action that we take has consequences, it does not disappear. It just waits for the right time to come back to us.
We may be the best person in this life time and still many wrong things are happening to us and we will feel that life is being so unfair to us, but the fact is that there is no fair or unfair about the life. It's just the karma that is hitting us at the right time when it's due.
Last year, one of my uncles passed away. All our life we were very closely bonded with him, but the last 2 years of life we had lot of challenges and we could not keep in constant touch with him. In this time, one person came into the picture and duped him with all his property. Legally the person has done everything on very strong grounds. Initially we felt very angry about this whole situation and we wanted to fight back with him, but in the bargain, we were getting drained out and our peace of mind was getting disturbed. One fine day self and hubby decided to give up. Though a lot of people told us that we should make him teach a lesson. But my question was at what cost? He has done frauds and why should I lose my peace of mind and my health gets impacted. The court and police matters are never pleasant.
I believe in one thing, that though at this point of time he feels he has won and he is feeling very happy and at top of the world. But the Universe is keeping a track and whatever he has done, he cannot get away from it. The Karma will surely come back to him. Many people told me that I am being philosophical and letting him go free. But the thing is that fighting with him is not going to be easy for me as well, and it is a huge cost for me too. I do not wish to spend my hard-earned money on this crook.
There is no end to life of karma, if it does not come through in this life, the probably the next or when the time is right. But it will for sure. Even saints cannot get away from their karma, even if they may be at their best in their current life. What is done is done and one must be prepared to face the consequences of that action.
