An Act of Kindness Saves Dogs' Lives

“If they are taken for granted, then who would have the heart to give them a second chance to live?”

SAVE FROM DEATH

A heartbreaking scene struck me one Tuesday afternoon when I was about to go home from Ilihan Integrated School, Cebu, Philippines, the school I’m currently teaching. These poor innocent skinny creatures have torn my heart. How can a dog owner abandon these innocent puppies and let them die of hunger? There were 8 of them being thrown inside the school campus. Unfortunately, I met only three live puppies.

Nobody took care of them because they were thinking about the safety of the students on the campus. They can be harmful, especially if they are considered stray dogs. Sad to say they were driven away by our utility man since face-to-face classes were about to start. There might be a tendency that they will bite the students once they will be disturbed. Thus they were forced to stay along the highway.

Upon seeing their worst situation, I couldn't just leave them. No food to eat, no water to quench their thirst, and no protection from the sudden change of weather. They have no families. However, God is good and never allowed them to be in this unfortunate and unlikely situation. I rescued them all.

HOW THEY WERE CALLED

The lonely pup was named Tuesday because this was the day she arrived home. Very thin and malnourished. She’s the youngest. She’s the sweetest and the most brilliant. Sad to say, she died on Thursday, 2 days after I rescued her. She crossed the road and was hit by a vehicle.

Melody is the smiling energetic and happiest puppy of all. She’s the biggest of the three. She was very active and playful. Unfortunately she reached the main road and got hit by a bus. Her short stay with us made us all sad.

This is Gray obviously because of her color. She’s the luckiest one because until now she’s still with us, alive, very alert and smart. She was hit four times but she defeated death and live a happy life. She’s very sweet, witty, and fun to be with.

ANOTHER ADOPTED DOG

Our house is already called an adoption center in our community. Some of the thrown and abandoned dogs are in our custody and are given all the rights they deserve. Their daily needs are provided fully packed with love and care. For me, they are extraordinary, the most loyal, and the sweetest creature in the world.

Last Friday, October 14, 2022, one of my neighbors told me that his friend was planning to leave the dog somewhere in Tabogon, Cebu, Philippines. He was to abandon the doggy due to her aggressive behavior. She killed some of his chickens by skinning them alive. Without any hesitation, I eagerly told him that I am willing to accept and will take care of her. Thus, it was on October 17, 2022, Monday, the puppy was sent to me at home. He was very thin, with skin problems, and the fur are losing.

The smile that begs me to adopt her as soon as possible. I named her Lily. I am making sure to give her all the love and attention she looks for. After she was rescued, she was given a bath, enough food and water, and a better and safe home to live in where there is no maltreatment at all. Only LOVE, LOVE & LOVE.

AS OF THIS MOMENT

It was a fulfilling feeling to have seen our rescued puppies grow up fast. It has been a while since their lives being homeless ended. They are welcomed at home with tender and loving care. I couldn’t imagine what life would bring if they were not rescued.

The witty gray now. From being malnourished to a healthy and happy puppy. I love Gray for being so sweet. With regards to Lily, since she was still 2 weeks old in my hands, I will be giving some feedback on her situation a month after she was rescued.

OUTING WITH BEST BUDDY

We love to spend our weekends taking a walk in our province. The fresh and cool air coming from the green plants can relieve our stress instantly. Nothing can equal the happiness felt when we are together as one big family with our pets. The magical beauty of nature and the natural loyalty of dogs can add more colors to our lives. The overflowing joy is immeasurable.

This is Balckie, another rescued dog. She likes dogging us all the time. Another adorable dog that touches our hearts.

This was our last captured photo with Balckie, our senior rescued dog. She was also hit by a bus. Losing her was painful but our memories together are irreplaceable. Being compassionate turns dogs’ lives to be better.

Dear Hivers, I am a proud fur parent here and excited to blog about my BEBE’s (Shih Tzu Chihuahua) life.

My virtual hugs and kisses!
