Poor cellular network in rural areas

Greetings everyone! I hope you guys are doing well, but it's been a rather frustrating day for me. Actually for a couple of months now. The reason is that my cellular network is getting worse day by day. Lord! The telecom companies in India are looting their users. Yes! when it comes to the rural areas, they fail in every department. From calling to surfing to uploading to downloading, the cellular network comes out to be the worst you could ever imagine. You may have got internet speeds in gigabytes per second, and here I am getting in kilobytes per second. You know what, I would be clapping my hands in joy even if I were able to get in megabytes per second. Seriously, nothing is more frustrating than poor data speed when you are to do important things on the web and you fail miserably just for the stupid network you got in your area.

I know, I know one thing might have risen in your head till now, why don't you switch to wifi? Yeah, I have already thought of installing it many a time in the past. But there are some issues with this too! Shall we start my rant again?

The network is not a problem when I am in my lab and I mostly spend my time in the lab. Even, during my Uni life, everything was good. There was great wifi on the campus and all good. Coming home and using my cellular network gives me a headache. It's not that I wish for a superfast internet speed on a cellular network in a rural area. But at least, the telecom companies can provide a decent speed considering the large user base they have in such areas.

My plans on installing wifi almost vanished when I got to know that they do not offer the availability of fiber cables to my area. They asked me for a huge amount saying that they have to install cables just for one customer only which is going to be me. To some extent, I can understand that they have to consider a few kilometers for doing so and I can not pay that much chunk of money. So, fiber optics came out as an unreachable option for me just like their network coverage! Bang!

I have heard about air fiber from a few companies and the best that seems to be working in rural areas is BSNL. Gone through YouTube videos and many positive reviews I was able to witness with the BSNL. So, with the flow, I decided to go with the air fiber. Everything was set and I went to their office as well and then there came the catch. One day, I was on a call with one of my buddies and I told him that I was going to install the air fiber and he straightaway asked me to drop the decision. Ah! I was like why now? He told me that he's been facing tremendous frequent disconnection from the same company. Sometimes for two to three days, he gets no connectivity. Now, spending my money on such a connection would be a stupid mistake. So, I dropped that plan.

So, I have been left with no choice but to use my poor cellular network. Now, with 5G coming to India, these telecom companies are doing more injustice to rural users. As the range of wavelengths for 5G is very less than 4G, with the advent of 5G, the connection is getting bad again. There are not many signal towers in rural areas, like far apart from one tower to the other and so there are some buffer zones located where the connectivity is very poor. The only solution that they could provide is to install more towers, which is not so good from an environmental view.

Anyway, this way, I will probably be ranting forever until my connectivity gets better. Till then, I'll post this article with the limited speeds I have got. HAHA! (cries in pain)
