The history of WSDC - we almost closed down

A sigh

that reaches through eternity

a breath

silence

remembering I should try again

sometime

maybe

I may have a people problem. I don't like to admit it, I may be a very bad judge of character.

I enthusiastically built a list of customers, every one interested some even telling me they will surely support me.

I arranged the first classes and asked everyone to book for their classes. Then the moment of truth. The day before the classes no one acknowledged. Finally I cancelled the first class. I simply could not afford taking on the expense of a venue and transport if no one arrived.

I decided to find a venue close enough to home to walk, losing quite a bit on the expenses. Then I found four people to take care of finding customers and booking classes.

Then I get the quote for the hourly rate and approach the booking agents to find out if they could do the minimum bookings required to pay the rates.

Too late I realize, the booking agents does not have the experience or the skills needed. Nor do they have the will.

I have to shut down the WSDC project temporarily until I could solve this problem.

Some great ideas simply are not great enough.
