AFRI-INLEO INITIATIVE 10: ๐ŸŽถ๐ŸŽน KEYBOARD IS MY FAVOURITE MUSICAL INSTRUMENT

Hello everyone in @afritunes community, happy weekend. It is great once again to participate in this #afri-inleo initiative and kudos to the following people for this great initiative; @ksam @obaro @starstrings @ovey10. Through this initiative, various topics are discussed and lessons learned. For this initiative, i will be sharing on my favourite musical instrument which is the electric keyboard, it promises to be an exciting read.

โ€ข WHY KEYBOARD?
I started my music journey right early in my childhood days. The reasons for finally settling for the keyboard as my major and favourite musical instrument was because i found it interesting especially the sound combinations of it, i found it easy to learn based on having a direct tutor who is my elder brother, i have access to a keyboard for practice even though i didn't have one then and because of the multidimensional ability of keyboard amidst other instruments. My knowledge of percussion instruments and sound music theory helped me to learn and assimilate the keyboard fast.

โ€ข THE JOURNEY?
The journey of playing the electric keyboard is about a decade and a half i.e. 15 years though my music journey is more than this. The journey was challenging at the onset because of not having a personal keyboard to practice though have access to one in Church, so i have to pay the sacrifice of moving down to Church to rearshe consistently. I remembered my first time of playing keyboard in a congregational service ๐Ÿ˜†, i was afraid and all, but it was memorable and kick started the journey in which I'm still active till today. I can say that consistent practice, passion and patience helped me in my journey.

โ€ข THE IMPACTS AND INFLUENCE?
The impact and influence of my favourite musical instrument i.e. the keyboard on me and through me to others is a great one. Through it, i gained recognition in my locality where i started and played at several platforms, stages and with other instrumentalist. I had a major upgrade in my keyboard play when i was an undergraduate student in the University back then when i learnt from other sound keyboardist and instrumentalists in which i was made the coordinator later on and helped my leadership ability. During my national service (NYSC), my ability to play the keyboard impacted on me positively in the Christian lodge i stayed and in the Church i attended even in a foreign land. By privilege, i have raised two keyboardists aswell who both are now University graduates still playing aswell and doing great.

โ€ข PERSONAL KEYBOARD?
In 2019 before the Covid-19 and lockdown started, i bought my first ever electric keyboard ๐ŸŽน for personal rearshals and development. This is a major breakthrough for me as it is what i longed desired for all these years. Since then, personnal rearshals have been enhanced and it facilitates improvement for me. I was glad i bought it then comparing the surge in prices of musical instruments now. This keyboard is instrumental for me in my Hive music performance in various music communities like @afritunes @vibes @hiveopenmic @musiczone

โ€ข AT PRESENT AND IN THE FUTURE?
Presently, I'm still active in the playing of the keyboard with major interest/specification in church music and contemporary music. Joining Hive platform late last year helped me in my music journey as i met awesome keyboardists and musicians like @Jesus-son @mamab and others. The future is great as i look forward to advancing my keyboard learning and playing unto the advanced level through registering in a music school and tutorials. A knowledge shared is a true knowledge, so i look forward to raising more keyboardist aswell.

Thank you for reading as comments and contributions are welcomed.
