SOME SPECIAL ADVANTAGES OF THE KEYBOARD
The keyboard is a multitasking instrument: This is the first and main reason why I love the keyboard, the fact that it can mimic every other instrument. It is always simple to improvise with the keyboard. As funny as it might sound, I have met guys who can play the drums using the keyboard. Yes, it is even capable of replacing percussion. I prefer to refer to it as a multi talented instrument😅. Apart from the fact that it can produce multiple sound, the keyboard is capable of doing a whole lot of thing. There are cases where only the keyboard is being used to play music of different genres, some keyboards are capable of playing loops on background while the performer play and even sing along (in some cases). In such a case, the keyboard can do the work of a bass, that of the guitar and even that of the drums. Now you see why I refer to it as a multi-talented instrument😁.
The keyboard is piano made simple: The first time I try playing the piano, I realized what the inventor of keyboard has done for people like us. You have to practically train your fingers to be strong before you can play the piano. Another amazing thing about the keyboard is that it makes it easy to manoeuver going through the stress of learning how to play all of the keys. I only started developing interest on other keys a year after playing the keyboard just on the key of C. In all, the keyboard simply makes life easy.
TRADE WITH CAUTION IF YOU MUST BE A KEYBOARDIST
The keyboard is indeed an amazing instrument, but one must be careful so as not to become a mediocre in cause of enjoying its numerous advantages. For those of us who perform with the keyboard using loops, there are possibilities of becoming lazy. Your might end up not learning how to make good use of your left hand on the keyboard. Another harm a keyboard can do to users who are not careful enough is that it can make them settle on just one key. Since modern keyboards provide possibilities for transposition, one can practically play on all keys while playing on one. If that be the case, it follows then that one can play the instrument comfortably even without really learning how to play it. I probably belong to that category😔.
