That One Song..

Music is life, what do you think? Many activities of life are always backed up with songs and that's why we have different songs for different purposes. For someone like me, I love all kinds of songs, both slow, fast and medium-speed songs. In my playlist, I have lullabies for sleep, vibing and dancing songs, worship songs, love songs and heartbreak songs as well. This is my playlist and I often modify it when needed. The songs in the different playlists have their times and moods when I listen to them.
It's a difficult thing for me to pick one song and call it my favorite because I have my favorite love song, heartbreak song, dance and worship songs. But for the sake of this post, I'm going to go with my favorite dance and vibing song because I have memories attached to the song.

My favorite song is “Cough” by Kiss Daniel. Talking about how recent this afrobeat is, I would say it's not among the trending songs but it's a new song because a large number of people still play it and enjoy it. It was released in 2023, just a year old and trended as it should at that time.

This song has been my favorite dance song because of the dance style attached to the song. In the song video, the major dance style displayed is the twerk dance. It's a cruise song, a song for a happy dance. If you've watched the video above, you'll understand me better.
I have friends who love living a free life, a life of “catching cruise”, going for outings, making dance videos and all of that. When this song was released, many people, young and old busied the internet with their twerk dance challenge on this song. For me and my friends who love making dance videos, especially dance videos of trending songs, we made use of this song for many of our dance videos and we made some cash from it.

Though the song is no longer trending as it used to be before and we have stopped using it for our dance videos, I still have this special love for the song. The dance videos are one of the memories I've made with this song but I have another funny memory and I wouldn't miss to share it.

Back then when I was living with my sister, she worked as a teacher. On World Teachers’ Day, her school organized a swimming party which was strictly for the staff after the general party. When she came back, she told me how everything went and how many lady staff were twerking to this song when it was played and the male teachers were all left mouths open, lolz.

That didn't end there, I noticed that my sister the next day began to play this song like never before. Whenever she played the song, she twerked. That was the song she used to master twerking though she often does it secretly in her room but I knew everything when I intentionally badge into her room while she was playing the song. She was shy when learning how to twerk but when she finally learned it, she openly played the song in the sitting room and made her twerking videos.
It's another memory I can't let go of because anytime I hear the song playing, I remember the picture of my sister trying to twerk to it, lolz.

It's an amazing song, the video can make one laugh out loud. Try playing the song and listening to it at least thrice, you will get the point I'm trying to make.

Thanks for reading.
