The Durban Violette blooms have one more week until harvest, it's pollinated branch was already snipped. The Orange Apricot, Pink Kush, and Apricot Kush seedlings are all healthy and having growth spurts.
Durban Violette blooms
The Durban Violette has had nine weeks of bloom time, it will be harvested within this next week. This cannabis plant had atleast twelve weeks of vegetative growth time before it was put into bloom - that's almost twice as long as usual, and it shows with the large bud structure.
Multiple shades of green, and a touch of purple, and a solid shimmering of trichomes. Many mature bright and burnt orange pistils, they outnumber the translucent white ones with their tips already frizzing, especially including the mature pistils that have been engulfed by the bud growth.
The buds have a sweet lemon pine, light peanut butter garlic scent to them, dank buds.
Most of the large fan leaves have fallen, each day I open the tent to a few more leaves shriveled up. It reminds me of when lettuce bolts, the main leaves get so haggard as the flower heads shoot up. The fan leaves seem to have more to do with the initial plant structure growth, either way the buds fatten without them.
The lower branch that was cross pollinated with Apricot Kush pollen finished up early and was ready for harvest today.
Even the bud leaves were changing color, this single bud branch was ready. Check out the trichomes and purples on the lower bud below.
I snipped the whole pollinated branch and hung it upside down by the stem for drying.
The main buds I'll give another week in the red spectrum lighting for them to finish up bud growth for harvest.
Orange Apricot
The Orange Apricot cross bred seedling is on it's third week of impressive growth. It's seed was born from an Orange Barb female cannabis bud being pollinated with Pink Apricot cannabis male pollen.
Week 2 | Week 3 |
---|
This first generation seedling could be a male or female. If it's female then I'll grow the buds and smoke them, if it's male then I'll collect the pollen to pollinate a future female Orange Apricot grow. Already growing out of the container, I'll have to transplant these seedlings to bigger containers soon.
Week 3
Pink Kush
The Pink Kush seedling has had three weeks of growth, this past week it had a growth spurt and grew many more leaf pairs. Compact plant so far, it's leaves haven't grown large like the Orange Apricot of the same age, but it's still early, a lot of time to grow.
Week 2 | Week 3 |
---|
This seedling was grown from a feminized seed and will be a bud producing female. I'll let this Pink Kush indica cannabis plant get to a large size before putting it into flower mode, so there will be a larger harvest.
Week 3
Apricot Kush
This Apricot Kush seedling has had two weeks of growth and is off to a good start with many sets of leaves.
Week 1 | Week 2 |
---|
The Apricot Kush seed this was grown from was not feminized so it could be a bud producing female or a pollen producing male. The first time I grew from this seed stock it turned out to be male, so I'm extra hoping for this one to be female, we'll see.
Week 2
You can see the seedlings below, the big third week crossbred Orange Apricot seedling in the back-left, the third week Pink Kush in the front, and the second week Apricot Kush seedling at the back-right. Many possibilities with this batch of seedlings.
