Echoes of the Drums

Life has never been the same and people have adapted to the new normal. We cannot all just lock ourselves in our houses. People try to find a way to feel free and alive again. This is my second day exploring my surroundings but still very careful when going outside. Taking all the necessary precautions. Come and join me today as we take a little walk in what we call life now.

It was surprising the I see a lot of kids outside wearing masks and doing tik toks. They probably grew tired of staying at home and wanted some fresh air.

People started playing baseball again. This used to be a baseball field and national competitions were even held here. People need to feel alive again by doing things that they love.

It almost feels like nothing crazy is going on around us. It is like taking a break from reality.

School may be out but kids still find a way to meet up with their friends.

The pounding of these drums is the first thing that you would hear once you enter the field. I believe this group is a part of a drum and bugle. There used to be drum competitions in our city and it was a big event. I even covered the competition years ago. Now the sounds of the drums are just like echoes of the past.

They keep on practicing and hoping that one day they will be able to march the streets again.

It is hard to resist the beat of the drums and their passion keeps them going. Maybe this is the only place where they could play as loud as they can.

Will we ever see them again in the streets in their elaborate costumes? Only time will tell but for now, they just keep on practicing. Like soldiers honing their skills to be always ready for battle.
