Date Pudding with Sticky Toffee Sauce
Hiya Everyone! Tori here! Today, I'll be showcasing a dish that I've never expected. Dates are palm fruits that are usually popular in Middle Eastern Countries. I would consider dates as such a complex fruit because its sweetness places it as a sort of dessert fruit, however, the complexity of the sweetness along with a little with of sourness confuses my taste buds because it somehow registers as a savoury type of fruit. Date Pudding is your is made with your typical pudding recipe with the addition of dates which gives it more sweetness and complexity in flavor. The Sticky Toffee Sauce gives it a nice rich caramel note which provides somehow like an earthiness and subtle bitterness along with hints of saltiness which cuts off the sweetness of the pudding a bit and adds to the complexity.
