From Grampians detour to Great Road

Continue 2-day road trip with my friend from Melbourne to Grampians National Park, we decided to drive back to the city via a different road. The road we selected which is renowned for its stunning coastal view in Victoria- Great Ocean Road. Spanning over 215 kilometers, it was a long but worthwhile journey to experience some of the country's best views. My friend and I decided to take on this adventure with our eyes wide open and hearts full of excitement. Well, it's something we both wanted to see, why not? :) We were determined to make the most of our journey and soak up all that this incredible location had to offer.

It took us 2 hrs 30 mins from Hall Gaps to the 12 Apostles. The road was maintained and it was a pleasant drive :) When it comes to the popular beach in my country, you'll find a lot more than just sand and surf. Along the road, there are numerous buildings that offer activities, entertainment, and services for tourists and locals alike. When we approached the Great Ocean Road, it was very different from what I imagined. There were grassy fields, trees, wild life, and fresh air on both sides of the road. Nice change from city :)

We started by walking to the information center for some background on the area. It's free to entry:) After that, we set off on a journey to discover the 12 Apostles firsthand. Here we were: stunning blue water, white sand, and lush greenery- it truly is sight to behold. I'm glad we decided to visit here. The weather on that day was perfect and the spot was too crowded !!

As someone who has heard about the Twelve Apostles when I first came to Melbourne, I was eager to finally see them in person. Well, my expectations were more than exceeded. They're impressive and iconic rock formations. ❤️

How amazing it it!! These Apostles have been formed over millions of years through erosion of the limestone cliffs by the pounding surf. The 12 Apostles is a name that is well-known, but the exact number of apostles isn't as certain.:) I'm told there may only be seven apostles left.

We walked down Gibson’s Steps and to the beach from 12 Apostles. Although there were narrow zigzag steps, getting close to the rock formation and viewing the towering cliffs from the bottom was breathtaking. It was relaxing to stroll barefoot along the beach and enjoy the smells and sounds of the ocean.

A quick stop and 2-hourswalking around the great ocean was truly amazing. What a great decision to come home this way. There are varied landscape, hidden gem and plentiful attraction to explore in the area. Nevertheless, it was so unfortunate that our time here was limited and we weren't unable to make the most of this opportunity. We must continue driving back to the city so my friend can catch her flight home next day :) My friend was a great accompany and we had a truly memorable adventure together :)
