This week I learned a great lesson, and that is that nature always has something to offer, even when we don’t find what we expect and sometimes the smallest and least obvious things are the ones that leave us with the most meaningful images.

The days I don’t work I like to enjoy going out to the countryside to photograph birds, it’s a kind of vice, very healthy, by the way, and therapeutic too. I get up very early in the morning to get there as soon as the sun rises and take advantage of those first rays of light. That’s what I did a couple of days ago, 6 in the morning I was ready, camera and all the equipment in order, I looked at the weather report and everything seemed to be fine.
Esta semana aprendí una gran lección, y es que la naturaleza siempre tiene algo que ofrecer, incluso cuando no encontramos lo que esperamos y a veces las cosas más pequeñas y menos evidentes son las que nos dejan imágenes más significativas.

Los días que no trabajo me gusta disfrutar de salir al campo a fotografiar aves, es una especie de vicio, muy sano, por cierto, y terapéutico también. Me levanto bien tempranito para llegar apenas salido el sol y aprovechar esos primeros rayos de luz. Eso hice hace un par de días, 6 de la mañana estaba listo, cámara y todos los implementos en orden, observé el parte del tiempo y todo parecía estar bien.
The place where I wanted to go was about 3 km from my house, a journey I had to make on foot because of the difficult road, lots of mud and weeds. I arrived and quickly looked for a good place to wait for the first birds to start arriving. It was near a river, which made it very strategic. Time went by and nothing was happening, and I immediately started to get frustrated. The weather was bad, everything was very cloudy, so the light was lousy, in other words, it couldn’t get any worse.
El lugar donde quería ir estaba como a 3 km de mi casa, trayecto que tuve que hacer caminando por lo difícil del camino, mucho lodo y hierbas. Llegué y rápido busqué un buen lugar para esperar que comenzaran a llegar las primeras aves. Estaba cerca de un río, lo cual lo hacía muy estratégico. Pasó el tiempo y no sucedía nada, y enseguida comencé a frustrarme. El tiempo iba mal, todo muy nublado, por lo que la luz era pésima, o sea, no podía ir peor.
In those circumstances was where the magic happened, I began to observe in silence what was around me and I was amazed at the number of species of insects, frogs, a whole lot of animals doing their daily routine, I immediately began to take pictures of them, they were waiting like me the sunrise to warm up, and without scaring them I became one more of their environment.
It is very important for the nature photographer to pay attention and develop his eyesight. There are a lot of unique and beautiful beings around us that sometimes we don’t notice and miss their charm. I didn’t take pictures of birds that day, but I did discover a wonderful world that I am crazy to share with you.
En esas circunstancias fue donde ocurrió la magia, comencé a observar en silencio lo que me rodeaba y quede maravillado, con la cantidad de especies de insectos, ranas, toda una cantidad de animalitos haciendo su rutina diaria, enseguida comencé hacerles foto, ellos esperaban igual que yo la salida del sol para calentarse, y sin asustarlos me hice uno más de su entorno.
Es muy importante para el fotógrafo de naturaleza el prestar atención y desarrollar su vista. Hay una cantidad de seres únicos y bellos a nuestro alrededor que a veces no notamos y nos perdemos su encanto. Yo ese día no hice fotos de aves, pero sí descubrí un mundo maravilloso que estoy loco por compartir con ustedes.
