Recientemente subí un video a 3speak sobre Fotografía Macro en Casa donde mostraba una serie de imágenes que capturé en donde vivo. Ese día fui grabando mientras realizaba este estilo de fotografía.
Les dije que había logrado algo que me gustó mucho, así que ha llegado el momento de que vean lo que conseguí.
Con algo de edición y reencuadre, mejoré la disposición del protagonista, intensifiqué y opaqué ciertas áreas, tanto en iluminación como en la intensidad de los colores. Editar las imágenes, así se trate de fotos de la naturaleza, nos permite corregir los detalles y que concentremos la atención solo en ciertas zonas.
I recently uploaded a video to 3speak about Macro Photography at Home where I showed a series of images I captured where I live. I was recording that day as I was doing this style of photography.
I told you that I had achieved something that I really liked, so the time has come for you to see what I got.
With some editing and cropping, I improved the disposition of the protagonist, intensified and opaqued certain areas, both in illumination and in the intensity of the colors. Editing images, even if they are nature photos, allows us to correct the details and to focus attention only on certain parts.
Abeja y Polen
Fíjense en esta abeja, con algo de suerte y persistencia, pude acercarme lo suficiente para que el enfoque fuese perfecto. Los detalles son sorprendentes para las limitaciones del lente de mi teléfono, cuyo modelo es muy viejo, un Samsung S6.
Look at this bee, with some luck and persistence, I was able to get close enough for perfect focus. The details are amazing for the limitations of my phone's lens, which is a very old model, a Samsung S6.
La pequeña voladora estaba extrayendo polen y duraba solo pocos milisegundos tomándolo. En su pelaje y alas se ven los poros de polen, sin duda la intensidad del sol contribuyó a que quedara bien detallada.
The little flyer was pulling up pollen and took only a few milliseconds to pick it up. On its fur and wings you can see the pollen pores, no doubt the intensity of the sun contributed to the detail.
Criatura de Telas
Lo siguiente que logré fotografiar fue una araña. Tenía su nido muy cerca de donde estaban las abejas. El insecto descansaba sobre la telaraña, calmado, quizás dormido. Por el ángulo en que se encontraba, la única perspectiva que tenía disponible era el que me permitía ver su rostro y afilados colmillos.
Me gustó la edición de esta foto, se notan sus ojos, creo que tiene una mirada malévola o quizás crea eso por el prejuicio del miedo que tenemos de lo que hemos visto en películas y documentales. Lo cierto es que la araña fue fácil de capturar en foto, lo único que movía a su nido era el viento.
The next creature I managed to photograph was a spider. It had its nest very close to where the bees were. The insect was resting on the web, calm, perhaps asleep. Because of the angle it was at, the only perspective I had available was the one that allowed me to see its face and sharp fangs.
I liked the editing of this photo, its eyes are visible, I think it has a malevolent look or maybe I believe that because of the prejudice of fear we have from what we have seen in movies and documentaries. The truth is that the spider was easy to capture in photo, the only thing that moved its nest was the wind.
Pequeño Araguaney
Recuerdo que después le tomé foto a la hoja de un arbusto muy peculiar. Me sorprendió la simetría y la mezcla del color verde con los tonos lilas. La imagen es una de esas que tienes que recorrer y al hacerlo te vas dando cuenta lo perfecta que es la naturaleza al crear todo.
I remember that later I took a picture of the leaf of a very peculiar bush. I was surprised by the symmetry and the mixture of the green color with the lilac tones. The image is one of those that you have to go through and as you do so you realize how perfect nature is in creating everything.
Los detalles son sorprendentes. Parece una versión pequeña del árbol nacional de mi país: El Araguaney
The details are amazing. It looks like a small version of the national tree of my country: The Araguaney.
Moras y Lilas
En la fotografía macro es importante acercarse, sostener fuerte la cámara porque el más mínimo movimiento hará que la imagen quede fuera de foco. Un secreto que viene bien es hacer un ligero zoom hasta conseguir detalles que el lente nos permita. La capacidad de enfoque dependerá del software y hardware de nuestro dispositivo fotográfico.
In macro photography it is important to get close, hold the camera tight because the slightest movement will cause the image to be out of focus. A secret that is useful is to zoom in slightly until you get as much detail as the lens will allow. The capacity to focus will depend on the software and hardware of our photographic device.
Otro aspecto a considerar es la paciencia. Yo no tengo mucha, jeje. Pero he desarrollado el sentido de la oportunidad y también reconozco las virtudes y limitaciones de mi equipo, así que sé cuando el lente no enfocará y cuando sí lo hará.
Another aspect to consider is patience. I don't have much, hehe. But I have developed a sense of timing and also recognize the strengths and limitations of my equipment, so I know when the lens won't focus and when it will.
Escondida Libélula
Cuando hacemos este estilo fotográfico, los sentidos deben estar alertas. Un momento que celebré mucho fue cuando mirando a mi alrededor vi una libélula escondida en el follaje.
When we photograph in this style, the senses must be alert. One moment I really celebrated was when I looked around and saw a dragonfly hiding in the foliage.
Estaba tranquila, estacionada, como sabiendo que casi nadie la vería. Creo que hubo algo de casualidad para que yo la encontrara, su cuerpo era negro con verde. Estaba perfectamente camuflada. Era imperceptible.
Fue una edición complicada de hacer. No hubo forma de que resaltara. Pero luego de buscar formas de que se notara, noté que la mejor forma era que se perdiera entre lo verde y que quien viese la foto la descubriera poco a poco.
She was quiet, stationary, as if she knew that almost no one would see her. I think there was something serendipitous about my finding her, her body was black with green. She was perfectly camouflaged. She was imperceptible.
It was a tricky edit to do. There was no way to make her stand out. But after looking for ways to make her stand out, I realized that the best way was for her to get lost in the green and for whoever saw the photo to discover her little by little.
Pequeño Insecto
A pesar que a veces hagamos fotos que no estén totalmente enfocadas, habrá algunas de ellas que nos gustarán. Este pequeño insecto era muy pequeño. Estaba en un lugar muy oscuro. Conforme me fui acercando tanto en proximidad de cercanía, como con la del zoom, me di cuenta que no quedaría bien detallada.
Quise recuperar información con la edición, pero el pequeño ejemplar quedo algo borroso. No les miento, se ve más claro de lo que yo recuerdo. Era tan pequeño que mis propios ojos no lo detallaban bien.
Con la edición noté que no quedaría como la abeja o la araña, pero los colores me cautivaron. Además, lucía exactamente con la limitada visión de mis ojos, así que luego decidí sumar esta fotografía para demostrarles lo subjetivo que puede ser una imagen.
Even though we sometimes take photos that are not in full focus, there will be some of them that we will like. This little insect was very small. It was in a very dark place. As I moved in both close proximity and zoomed in, I realized that it would not be well detailed.
I wanted to recover information with editing, but the small specimen was a bit blurry. I'm not lying to you, it looks better than I remember. It was so small that my own eyes did not detail it well.
With the edition I noticed it wouldn't look like the bee or the spider, but the colors captivated me. Also, it looked exactly right with the limited vision of my eyes, so I decided to add this picture to show you how subjective an image can be.
La gente asocia la fotografía macro con la microscópica cuando en realidad la cercanía no tiene que ser tan extrema. Con cualquier dispositivo fotográfico podemos realizar este estilo. Claro está que debemos conocer bien cuáles serán nuestras limitaciones y cómo podemos aprovechar la luz y la creatividad de cada caso.
Los lentes de las cámaras funcionan como nuestros ojos. Llega un momento en que si nosotros nos acercáramos lo que más posible a un objeto, no podremos enfocar lo que tenemos cerca. Hay que reconocer el punto dulce, donde podemos ver en detalle lo que observamos.
People associate macro photography with microscopic photography, when in fact, the proximity does not have to be so extreme. With any photographic device we can perform this style. Of course, we must know well what our limitations will be and how we can take advantage of the light and creativity of each case.
Camera lenses work like our eyes. There comes a time when if we get as close as possible to an object, we will not be able to focus on what is near us. We have to recognize the sweet point, where we can see in detail what we are looking at.
Amarillo de Cerca
Para hacer la foto de esta flor amarilla no necesitamos la suerte y destreza que con la de la abeja. Se trata de una flor estacionaria que siempre está en el mismo lugar, a pesar que solo florezca en ciertas fechas del año.
Lo que quiero decir es que en ese momento entra en juego otro elemento para que la imagen destaque. Se trata de la perspectiva y la creatividad.
Las dos imágenes son fotografía macro. En la primera vemos un primerísimo primer plano que luce imponente. La segunda es una fotografía con 3 flores y en uno de sus pétalos un pequeño amigo al que no podía enfocar mi teléfono. Era tan diminuto que la única distancia en la que salía enfocado era esa.
A diferencia de la primera foto, la segunda te sumerge en una historia y cada quien imaginará o sentirá algo diferente al verla. Lo único que hicimos fue buscar un encuadre que ayudara a resaltar al pequeño insecto.
To take a photo of this yellow flower, we do not need the same luck and dexterity as with the bee. It is a stationary flower that is always in the same place, even though it only blooms at certain times of the year.
What I mean is that at this point another element comes into play to make the image stand out. It's all about perspective and creativity.
Both images are macro photography. In the first one we see a very close-up that looks stunning. The second is a photograph with 3 flowers and in one of its petals a small friend that my phone could not focus on. He was so tiny that the only distance he was in focus was that one.
Unlike the first photo, the second one immerses you in a story and everyone will imagine or feel something different when seeing it. The only thing we did was to find a frame that would help the little insect stand out.
Mirando al Cielo
La idea es exprimir las ideas, lanzarnos al piso, subirnos sobre una piedra, mirar a los lados. Lo raro siempre llama la atención, quizás no le guste a todo el mundo, pero quien lo vea lo recordará.
The idea is to squeeze the ideas, to throw ourselves on the floor, to climb on a stone, to look to the sides. The weird always attracts attention, maybe not everyone likes it, but whoever sees it will remember it.
La belleza de la naturaleza está en todo y en nada, es algo subjetivo. Pero hacer una foto distinta le dice a nuestros seguidores la particular manera cómo vemos nuestro exterior.
Yo me puse a ver el cielo y vi una hoja perforada, era muy parecida a la hoja de plátano. Creo que algún insecto hizo esos huecos al alimentarse. Quizás el exceso del sol causó que se secara. Para mí era una imagen difícil de resaltar así que busque las dos caras de la moneda. Una toma la haría desde abajo de la hoja y otra desde arriba.
La segunda es mi favorita. Resalta la belleza de la planta y del cielo, además se nota la luz del sol que coloqué justo encima para lograr esa textura.
The beauty of nature is in everything and in nothing, it is subjective. But taking a different photo shows our followers the particular way we see our outdoors.
I looked at the sky and saw a perforated leaf, it was very similar to a banana leaf. I think some insect made those holes when feeding. Maybe too much sun caused it to dry out. For me it was a difficult image to stand out so I looked for both sides of the coin. One shot I would take from below the leaf and one from above.
The second is my favorite. It brings out the beauty of the plant and the sky, plus you can see the sunlight that I placed just above it to achieve that texture.
Salgan a divertirse con sus cámara, comentan errores y practiquen la edición de cada foto. El trabajo de fotografía es muy subestimado porque ahora los teléfonos celulares están desplazando a las grandes cámaras.
Todos podemos hacer geniales fotos. Está en ti que no sea solo una casualidad.
Go out and have fun with your camera, make mistakes and practice editing each photo. Photography work is very underestimated because cell phones are now displacing the big cameras.
Everyone can take great photos. It's up to you to make sure it's not just a casualty.
