YEAH!!! THE FIRST SNOW AT MY CABIN ☃️❄️ I documented YESTERDAY the #accumulation of 9 cm of SNOW throughout the day. Let me also take you along today on a walk in the #garden and up the #mountain 🏔️ to show you this #WINTER #WONDERLAND from 1 NOVEMBER 2024 ☃️❄️
It is so #beautiful and it definitely feels like it is #Christmas 🎄already hahaha 🤣😂

I knew for weeks that the snow would arrive soon. That’s why I was hurrying the last weeks with the paint work outside of the cabin to get it finished. As it is to cold 🥶 now for painting.
Yesterday was finally THE DAY IT ARRIVED ❄️☃️ I so was looking forward to it.
At 9:47 h it started with very… very light snow, almost not visible. My surroundings were still frozen from the frost over the last days. Even the sun didn’t defrost it ☀️ during daytime.
The view over the valley, the mountains in the background disappeared.
MR. AND MRS. #PUMPKIN STILL HAVING LOADS OF FUN ON THE PORCH. Watching the birdies come to visit 😊 Sadly nobody besides us visited them during #halloween 🎃🎃👻👻
As you can see, they are a bit frozen 🥶

At 10:08h I see the branches are accumulating the light snow ❄️
The view over the valley at 10:36h. The snow is getting a little bit heavier now ☃️ we do see some mountains and forests in the distance 😊
The #birds are gathering at the #feeders… they are almost empty, so I will fill them up in an hour 🐦⬛🐦⬛🐦⬛

The snowflakes are getting thicker… you see them now on my photos 📸
Our #forest at the back of our cabin is also turning white now 🌳🌲🌳🌲🌳🌲
The valley at 10:51h Friday the first of November 😊
I like the layers of trees that are still visible.
It is now an hour later, 11:26h as you can see… more snow ❄️ is falling down ☃️ and it stays. It is very fluffy and light snow. Luckily not heavy and wet.
Slowly the views are getting very white. Stunning…. How can I not take this many photos. 😇 Ok ok… I took much more photos, this is just a small selection of them 😊 that I wanted to share with you.
My #lavender plant 🪴 is covered in snow at 12:19h
I decided to get a measuring tape out. Let’s see….
Wow at exactly 13:00 h the snow is 4 cm deep ☃️❄️
My view on the porch, as you can see, the bird feeders are right here in front of my kitchen window and front door….. so I can watch the birds feed 🐦⬛😊
Our driveway is located here too.
Aaawww look at Mr. And Mrs. Pumpkin 🎃 they are cuddling together. They told me they are having fun as it is their first snowfall… ever. ☃️❄️ they love watching it.
Back inside I take this capture of the valley. Everything is now literally covered in a layer of snow ❄️
The trees are covered more and more at 13:21h 😊
Now you can see it is also gathering on the branches of the pine and spruce trees 🌲🌲🌲🌲🌲
So beautiful 😍 what a view…
I can’t stay inside anymore… 😎 it is 13:32h now.
Let’s wrap up warm 🧤🧣🧥 put some sturdy boots 🥾 on and head outside 😊

Look at this little twig, because the snow is so light it still stays up.

My veggie 🥒🥦🍅🫑🥕 beds are covered in snow ❄️
I did prepare them for the winter weeks ago after the frost killed most of the veggies in early September.
This is one of the wattling rings, where I had the wildflowers 🌼🌸🌼🌸 in that I showed you all frozen last weekend… all cleaned up and winterised… it makes for an interesting form.
The temperature gauge on the inside of our shed shows -1 degrees Celsius
I must say… it is protected from the weather here, especially the wind.
As we walk further towards the front I see some plants 🌱 in the snow that make for pretty photos.
Another photo I like a lot 😊 this one is next to the drive way. That is a lot of snow that covers the dried out flowers.
The top of it, I zoom in close by 😎 so you see good how fluffy the snow is.

We have done a full round in the garden now.
Let’s walk further up the path /up the mountain for a little bit.
We see some abandoned buildings 🏚️ on the right.
The #virginsnow… nobody has walked on this path yet.

Next to the path I see layers of branches…. An awesome pattern 😎 don’t you think?
Hubby besides the enormous trees… “hi hubby👋🏻👋🏻” so you get a better feel of size of the trees in the forest around me.
Love #walking in the snow. It looks like winter wonderland ☃️☃️☃️

We headed back to the cabin now as soon the sun will set.
This is our view over the valley at 14:35h
I can’t stop watching out….
So sooooooo beautiful. I get all giddy from it. Hahaha 🤣
The snow is getting higher and higher, slowly it is covering our tracks 👣👣👣
At 15:00h I get the measuring tape out again.
Wow…. 😮 it is 8cm now. That is rather fast. From 10:30 until 15:00h 8 cm of snow ☃️
The light changes now as it is #sunset 🌅

The branches holding well with 8 cm of snow that came down this day.
The view is much clearer over the valley now. You see clearly the trees on the opposite side of the lake. It stopped snowing 🌨️
I capture the wonderful forms of the white trees 🌲🌳
At 16:00h it gets quickly dark… the white of the snow does help to give me a few more captures.
It is COMPLETELY #dark at 16:20h and 2 street lights are our only source of light on this mountain outside. Ok, yes… there is also a porch light I switch on too.
Mr. And Mrs. Pumpkin are fully buried in the snow. Warm enough for the long night. Lit up by the porch light 🕯️
At 17:50h I go out and measure for the last time. As it stopped snowing now and won’t snow again until Sunday 3 November ☃️
As you can see…. It is 9 cm of snow ❄️

As yesterday was a day without any sun ☀️ and I woke up this morning 🌅 with the sun. I decided to capture the snow in the sunlight THIS MORNING. It rises at about 7:30h at the moment.
9:30h the #sun shines bright, but it doesn’t defrost all of the snow.
The Pumpkins survived the night very well and are still smiling 😊
I head outside…. ☃️☃️❄️❄️ the sun is warm enough for me to go out quickly without a jacket 🧥
Now the snow is there, I can find tracks in it ❄️☃️
No idea what this animal will be.
Another one… it must have been small. 🐾🐾🐾🐾

I watch a little while next to the feeders. The birds are used to me so are not afraid to come and feed while I stand there 🥰
Clear views… some snow on the trees disappeared.

Mr. #Woodpecker came to visit this morning too.
Some #bullfinches (the red bird) came also. There are about 5 couples in the tree today.
