Christmas for the boat!

A lot of presents — for the boat…

We have finally arrived in Sitka, a place rich in history. But we'll cover that in our next blog, as today is "Christmas for the boat."

What do I mean by "Christmas for the boat"?

Well, when we reach ports like Sitka after two months at sea, we order a lot of spare parts because many things break during that time. We were extremely lucky that Sitka accepts private parcels, as many ports do not. So, we took the opportunity to order plenty of spare parts: motor parts, oil filters, a water pump, a new phone, and much more. You get the point - this is what I mean! Every time we receive so many packages, we say, "Time to pick up the presents for the boat."

Enough talk… here's Sitka on an absolutely stunning day.

A beautiful Volcano, just when you look towards the ocean from Sitka.

I thought this picture would be a perfect way to finish this blog.

Sitka is an incredible town, nestled among towering mountains that completely surround it. The rugged landscape isolates Sitka, making it accessible only by plane, seaplane, or boat. This remoteness gives it a unique charm, as if the town is tucked away from the rest of the world, preserving its natural beauty and peaceful atmosphere.

I hope you enjoyed reading my blog about Sitka! If there's anything you think I could improve, feel free to let me know - I'm always looking to make my content better for my readers.

Tomorrow, I'll be posting another blog that dives deeper into the history and culture of Sitka, so stay tuned for that. There's so much more to share about this fascinating place!

Also sorry for not posting for awhile, l had trouble with peakd and l could not post for two weeks! But everything is under control now.

Until next time, take care and see you all soon.
