Foggy Day Above the Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco

Two years ago I flew my drone above the Golden Gate Bridge on a clear day and took some of my favorite photos of all time. I have an older post with those photos. I was really happy with the shots but always wondered what it would look like with some low fog on the bridge. One foggy day last summer I was able to do just that. Despite the high winds my drone held steady as I shot photos and a video of the fog passing through the bridge.

When I approached from the San Francisco side of the bridge it appeared to be completely engulfed in fog. As I got to the Marin side I had noticed an opening in the fog at the exact spot that I took my photos two years prior. I was in disbelief, fog on the bridge is common, but its normally never the way you want it to be for photos. More often then not the fog covers up the entire bridge. I have seen photos of the top of the bridge poking out of the fog, but catching that moment in real life had been elusive for me until this day.
