Mountain views and Landscapes are not the only highlights of a hiking excursion. Along the trail one can find many different gems, if you look carefully. I am always scanning the surroundings as I walk, looking for “gems” that catch my eye. Often times, those gems include flowers, berries or small wildlife. It’s the colours that usually attract me; or the sounds of squirrels, birds, and anything else that moves in the forest. Anyway you slice it, heading out into the wild is always a special treat.
