Greetings Photo Lovers
This is a collection of shots taken this past week, this first one is of a Scots pine in my backyard which is starting to develop new pine cones. The pine sap smell from the tree at this time is amazing, I wish yall could scratch and sniff this one.
This shot is from Caird Park in Dundee again we see a new cone right beside last year's cone which is still on the branch.
This broken tree provides some unique pine cone shots.
The unique contrast of colors here caught my eye straight away. We have the orange color of the dead needles, but still some green from other needles which suggests the branch probably broke sometime recently. We did have very intense winds here in mid-March so that's likely when this part of the tree fell.
The dead pine cones appear frozen in time.
Im not sure exactly what kind of pine tree this is but the red cones sure look nice.
This area of woodland in Caird Park had a whole carpet of these fallen cones.I should gather some of these next time I visit. My mother loves making Christmas decorations from cones like this.
The last shot of this collection shows a young pine sapling that is growing out of a branch of a Birch tree. It will be very interesting to see how long this sapling lasts, it would be awesome to see it as a fully fledged bonsai pine growing out of a Birch branch.
