Hi
A week of travel visiting clients and traveling many miles by car and plane. Undoubtedly, if you have some fear of flying and more with bad weather this generates stress.
It's finally Friday
But it is finally Friday and I was able to schedule my calendar to finish my work week yesterday, Thursday, in the city where I was born more than 40 years ago, Ponferrada.
As the last business meeting ended late, I decided to spend the night and enjoy myself before returning home to Asturias.
I plan to make the following visits in order to relax and enjoy myself.
Visiting the Templar Castle of Ponferrada
It is an impressive fortress that I have already visited several times. But in each visit I discover some new corner of it.
I love history and being able to contemplate in our days the origin of our history.
But my batteries are best recharged in nature...
However, the ultimate moment of disconnection will come when I take a detour and visit the viewpoint of Orellán and contemplate the largest gold mines from Roman times in Europe. The mines of Las Medulas.
For me, being able to visit this place and breathe fresh air, contemplate the beauty of nature intermingled with the plumes resulting from the mining activity of more than 2000 years ago, allows me to reduce the level of stress and anxiety that my work causes me.
At the same time, as I am not in a hurry to get home, I will be able to walk from the village of Las Médulas a route of about 2 km between young chestnut trees and some not so young.
I will contemplate the great plumes from their base and will be even more impressed by how they were able 2000 years ago to cut into the rock, using galleries, tunnels and water channels to achieve the precise sinking of the rock and then pick out the gold.
In short, visiting the land where I was born, touring its historical sites and even more in a natural environment such as Las Médulas and its mines will connect me with my origin and at the same time revitalize my day to day life.
I am going out now to disconnect and release stress.
Happy Friday.
