I have tested a lot of crypto games and many of them are big disappointments, that is not the case with Nine Chronicles. After 1 week and a lot of grinds, I have finally passed Stage 150 and I want to share with your my first impressions.
This is the first time that I review a game so don't be too harsh with me, that being said let's start with some conclusions.
Right now the character creation is locked to only one class "Warrior" and each account can create up to 3 characters. You can customize your character by choosing from Hair (7) Eyes (6) Ears (10) Tail(10) different designs that are pretty and very cool looking.
The future classes will be Archer/Mage/Acolyte that gives us some hope for maybe a future party dungeons, party pvp, or some other form of the multiplayer fighting system.
The game is an idle MMORPG so you need to choose your items and prepare everything before you are sending your character in the fight, PVE completing stages or dungeons, or PVP in the Arena against others players.
And because everything about this game is on blockchain you will see some delays, but this gives another dimension to the game and because the game is open-source you can fork it and create your own adventure. I really think this is gonna be one of its kind and because there is not gonna be any wipeout and start over, the sooner you join better will be your position in the future. Because is a blockchain open-source project I really feel like the community is building this game. Many of the discord members submit ideas and suggestions that are now a work in progress to be integrated into the game.
The discord channel is very active and a lot of helpful and friendly people around. The devs are responding to the messages and are very involved.
What do you need to know?
- You will need patience with this game is slow base and you will be locked a lot of time in waiting screens.
- You will need NCG in order to progress because you will need to upgrade your gear and that cost NCG, you can get NCG via mining, giveaways or selling items on the market.
- When you see are missing the NCG that's because of the Reorg, you have mined an orphan block.
"You mined a block on your local machine => the game UI add 10 NCG to your balance => but then someone finished the block faster than you => the block got reorged and the NCG removed from the chain
But the game UI doesn't remove the NCG until you restart your client or doing any transaction that requires NCG
So before buying anything on market, just restart your game client to check the correct balance"
- Start doing craft as soon as you can, because there is a system like in splinterland where you should combine 2 types of equipment to upgrade to +1, 4 for +2, 8 for +3, 16 for +4 you will find a lot of people willing to pay for the + equipment. Up to +3 is free to upgrade after that is cost NCG so upgrade if you want to farm NCG they get also a nickname in-game "fodder" and you will find people willing to pay for that.
What I really like?
The game has a lot of micromanagement and the crafting system is very rewarding.
The community is very active and people are really involved in the project.
I really like the idea of community driving game the best games that really last for a very long time are mods created by communities take examples of Counter-Strike and Dota.
The gameplay and game mechanics are easy to understand.
See you in the game, hope you will give Nine Chronicles a try.
I have created a community for this game here on hive and I will try to create a bridge between hive and Nine Chronicles players because I really think these 2 worlds will match very nicely.
