I have the next two or so months away from work. I've been spending a lot of time streaming on twitch and listening to music.
Those of you who have waded through my words on this blockchain know that I like Metal. Those of you who waded through my content on the blockchain that HIVE was formally known as will know my prior and stupendously silly obsession with Poetry too.
Enough preamble. Feast your eyes upon my creation:

The gameplay loop is as follows:
- Quote Appears
- You guess metal or poetry.
- You get feedback if you were correct or incorrect.
- Three seconds pass.
- A new quote appears.
There are a number of improvements that I would like to make as I learn how to implement the functionality.
This is my first ever JS project, and its a combination of asking ChatGPT some strategic questions, then googling for the correct way to implement things, instead of getting ChatGPT to write the code entirely on its own.
Even if I wanted to, I don't think it is capable enough.
The site, in its current state, took about 12 hours of work. There's a Spreadsheet that contains the entries, and I wrote a Python script using Pandas to convert it to a JSON. The JSON is a variable in my JS script; then the rest of the JS does the stuff.
The logo was made by a friend; and the CSS styling was pretty easy.
The initial idea was to monetise the site with ads, but the ads that I found were absolutely abhorrent in the way in which they essentially hijacked clicks on the site, making it almost completely unplayable.
I want this to be a fun thing that people can play while they wait in line for a concert, almost being a social exercise.
