Sunday At Shibuya

I met with friends so we can eat, study and have fun after. The main purpose is really to study and we did just that.

It was a rainy Sunday when I arrived at Shibuya. As usual, there were so many people. I think this part of Shibuya will never run out of people. I only saw an empty Shibuya scrambled crossing one time, and it was in a TV drama called Alice In Borderland. LOL

We had lunch first because all of us were starving. I had a chicken guacamole burrito and it was good. I like that the place is a bit hidden so it wasn’t crowded on a lunch time.

This restaurant is called Frijoles and they have good food - not fast food, but they served fast.

I was full from that burrito. I got a regular sized one but I think if I go there next time I should get a small one. The regular was big for me, I cannot imagine how full I would be if I got the grande.

Well, the regular sized came as a blessing in disguise. After getting full, we walked and walked all over Shibuya trying to find the coffee shop that one of my friends frequent to whenever he wants to study. The problem was he couldn’t remember the name of the cafe, and he couldn’t remember where it was. He only remembered small details like how he arrived there from the train station and how it looked like inside of the cafe.

We were like detectives figuring out which one was it. We saw some coffee shops on the way, giving up on the task, but they were full and some don’t have outlets. My friend needed to charge his phone. Plus, we need a good table where we can study.

Eventually we took almost an hour of walking around Shibuya that when we saw Cafe D Crie, we thought we found the right cafe. Turns out, it wasn’t that cafe we were looking for but we ended up staying there because it looked like a good place for studying and charging my friend’s phone.

The burrito from lunch was long gone so I got a chocolate cake. It was the right kind of sweetness but I couldn’t eat this one in one sitting. It lasted the entire time we stayed in the cafe, almost 3 hours. That was also the time we stayed there to study. You can read how our study session went in my previous post.

My brain was toast after studying so we’re now off to dinner. But before that, I wanted to buy a book so we went to a bookstore. Tsutaya on the 11th floor of Shibuya Scrambled Building looked fancy - it has Starbucks and a Share Lounge in it but they don’t have the book I was looking for. We ended up going to Kinokuniya bookstore and found the book.

From the cafe to the bookstore, it was like going from north to south. 😅 We’re walking a lot again.

Our mission (to study) was done and we even ticked off some few boxes like buying a book and other stuff. We can now have dinner and get drinks!

We talked about how our common friend will celebrate her birthday soon so we went to buy a simple gift for her in the nearby Don Quijote, the go to place for everything. It didn’t take us a while to buy the gift so we’re on the road again.

Now, we don’t want to go home just yet so we decided to go darts.

There were many Darts Up stores in Shibuya but we particularly chose this one place we’ve been before because it looked clean and all the darts were new.

And because it was still early in the night time, we were welcomed by empty seats.

Later in the night it was full of people though. There were some annoying ladies on the table beside us. They blocked our way and it wasn’t very pleasant. Although some of them were a bit kind though. I just didn’t like that they took our space.

Besides that incident, nothing more happened. Of course we had fun! And we even cleared our darts mission for tonight.

We had 2 large drinks - and we realized we shouldn’t have ordered a large sized one. It was expensive! Next time we’ll get the normal size drinks. 😅

On the way to the train station, we saw this huge guy while waiting to cross the famous Shibuya scrambled crossing. He was so interesting because of what he wore. I think he’s having an aircon inside. It was a bit hot today, I think I needed that fan too. But you’ll never see me wear that. 😅

Nothing fancy, just a normal day in Japan.

Thanks Shibuya and thanks Hachiko. I had a lot of fun, food, drinks and exercise today - walking all over this place.

Thanks for reading!
See you around! じゃー、またね!
