My Actifit Report Card and Update: June 15 2024

Hi Everyone,

I’m back with another Actifit Report and Updare. It’s summer time in the UK, but you would have never guessed it. Ultra dull weather, and very frequent, very short, and light showers. The nicest weather has come after 7pm. The temperature has been consistently below 15 degrees and the wind has made it feel colder. The grass is definitely growing slower, that’s good because I don’t need to mow it, but bad because isn’t growing back in Hamlet’s area.

The UK general election has been called for the 4th of July. Even though I’m a non-voter, I pay attention to what is happening in the elections. The UK has a first-past-the-post, two party system. Only two parties ever have a chance of winning. They are the Labour Party and the Conservative Party. It normally doesn’t matter who wins, we basically end up with the same thing.

This election is different. The Labour Party has about, based on polls, a 98% of winning. Their victory could be one of the biggest in recent history UK history. The Conservative Party is incredibly unpopular. This could create a temporary shift towards one party dominance, which would resemble a one party system for the next parliament. There could be no clear opposition party.

This election is more about determining the opposition. The Conservative Party are still the strong favourites to technically be the number two party based on seats. However, it is looking less likely they’ll be number two based on overall public support. The Reform Party is soaring in popularity and is neck and neck in the polls with the Conservative Party. There is also the Liberal Democratic Party. They are less popular than the other two parties, but could win more seats than both parties through tactical voting.

There is a lot to cover regarding this election. I’ll write a detailed post explaining what is happening and what I believe is likely to happen.

I’ve been busy writing the book again. I only made time to write one post, that was the results post of the Sapien Loop quiz. The turnout for the post was not superb, but some of the participants are really getting into the book. It’s great to see this, it provides me with the motivation to keep writing.

This time around, nobody managed to answer all the questions correctly, but a few answered 6 correctly. There were a couple of challenging questions thrown in. I don’t want the quiz to be too easy. I think I have a good balance with the difficulty now.

I’ll be running the next quiz in around a week. This one will include Part 3. I suggest future participants start reading. There’s a lot of ground to cover.

That wraps up this Actifit Report and Update. I’ll be back soon with a post on the UK election. There is a lot of ground to cover. I wish everyone a great week ahead. Let’s hope summer really arrives soon.
