Hi Everyone,
I hope everyone is having a great Christmas period. I've been busy building a garage/shed. I bought the garage/shed months ago but have been too busy and unwilling to build it. The plan was to hire someone else to build it but nobody was interested. I was left with no choice but to build it myself. With less than a week to Christmas, I began the task. For the first few days, I had some help from Patsy (man who has done tasks around the place over the past few months). After that, I was sort of on my own. My mum helped hold things in position while I screwed screws into them and helped hand me screws when I was putting on the roof tiles. Without her, I couldn't have completed building it.
I worked on it during the few hours of available daylight each day. That is roughly 9 to 4. I took most of Christmas day off. The scare came on Christmas Eve when there were strong winds. We grabbed as many heavy and large items such as bins full of bricks, construction gates and fencing to hold the structure steady. At this point, the roof was not attached and the side panels on their own were quite flimsy. Luckily, it survived the strong winds. I went back to work on Boxing Day and for a few days after to complete construction. It appears stable now and should survive the winter.
The reason it needed to be put up now and couldn't wait until Spring was because we had several items that needed to be stored out of the house such as a scooter and electric wheelchair. The winter weather would have damaged them if they were not kept in some form of shelter.
Christmas Posts
I normally write a Christmas post. This year, I could not find the time. Instead, I ran a Christmas edition of my Buying and Selling Game. This version of the game was based on the business version. The difference was that participants could choose between running 2 businesses. One involved selling candy and the other involved selling toys. The contest had 5 participants. One of them chose to sell toys and the other 4 chose to sell candy. This contest had 2 winners. The participant who made the highest profit selling candy and the participant who made the highest selling toys. There was an additional prize to whoever made the highest profit overall. The prize for this contest amounted to 50 Hive or approximately US$80. I think this was the most I have given away in any of my contests.
Where to next
I began 2021 with an Actifit Post. It is quite fitting to end it with one as well. I enjoy posting on Actifit. I like posting about my activity (physical and on the blockchain). I will continue posting to this Dapp in 2022.
In regards to my other content, I have plenty of ground to make up. I wanted to post much more but I have been very busy off the blockchain. I will have more time to post in 2022. I definitely want to post more videos. I posted several in the first part of the year but was unable to do so in the second half. In 2022, I will have new locations to post from which should make the content a little more interesting. I expect to make more videos in Spring. I will also return to writing my book. I expect it to be an ebook but I will consider alternative publishing.
That brings this Actifit Report and Update to an end as well as my posting for 2021. I wish everyone a great and exciting new year. 2022 could be a year of opportunity. Let's make the most of it.
