Hi Actifitters,
I hope everyone had a great weekend. I had a fairly busy weekend. I was preparing for the move, which is coming soon. Moving house normally involves a lot of work and preparation. I always prefer the moving in part more than the moving out part. Unpacking seems far more enjoyable than packing.
I spent several hours on Saturday exploring the new town. It's pretty cute. It's got everything we need as well and almost everything is in walking distance. So I should be able to keep my activity high without going to that much extra effort. The counts recorded in this report are from Sunday, which was more of a stay home day but I managed to move around enough to get a respectable count.
End of the Challenge Series
I have just completed the 7-week economics challenge series. I think it went pretty well. I was hoping for a few more participants. However, the different challenges did give me some idea of the type of challenges that people are interested in. Challenge 2: Game Theory had the most participants. The challenge was easy to enter, as the requirements were straight forward. However, devising a winning strategy was far more difficult, as participants needed to design their responses based on the responses of other participants. This involved analysing existing responses while predicting possible future responses. There were a few challenges with 6 participants such as Challenges 5 and 6. Challenge 5 was also quite simple, as it only required bidding on items and competing against other participants. Challenge 6 involved selecting items to sell and choosing an appropriate selling price to make the highest profit.
Challenge 7 was the deciding challenge. This was arguably the easiest to understand. It simply involved investing in cryptocurrencies, which the participant believed would increase by the highest percentage so as to make the highest profit. This challenge had only 4 participants. The lower numbers were somewhat expected as participants only had 2 days to enter instead of 6. This was long enough for 2 of the top 3 participants in the series to enter. @crrdlx came second in this final challenge and this placing awarded enough points to take the lead and become the overall winner.
For the whole challenge series I gave away 210 Hive, which is over US$100 at current prices. This does not include the 50% upvotes to all that entered. With higher participation, the value of prizes could have reached 500 Hive. Maybe next time. I don't have any more challenge series planned for this year. I should have another one next year. As before the challenge series, I will return to running one contest a month . I plan on running the buying and selling games again but I may throw in a different type of contest sometimes to change things up.
This brings this Actifit Report and Update to an end. This might be my last one for this month. If so, I'll probably start September with one. I hope every has a great week and an enjoyable end to your summer. If you're in the Southern Hemisphere, I hope you have an enjoyable end to your winter.
