Hi Everyone,
I am back with another Actifit Report and Update. I managed to be a little more active this week but only just. I have been spending more time in the garden with the dogs. I run around with them each day for about 30 minutes. Yesterday, I surpassed 5,000 counts as I made a trip to the corner shop to pick up a few goodies plus essentials. Next week I'll mow the lawn. It's starting to grown in the warmer weather.
Content Update
On Hive I have been busy putting out more posts. I posted twice about the Covid-19 pandemic.
In the first post, which is the second post in the series, I wrote about the fragility of the world we live in. The post looked at how the virus and the response to the virus is inflicting great damage on our health, social, and economic systems. The post takes a look at South Korea's response to the virus and how they have managed to suppress it. Another key emphasis of the post is the need for our economy to be in constant motion to operate. Covid-19 has brought that motion to a crashing halt.
The second post, which I posted just a few hours ago, looks at the effect of Covid-19 on demand, supply, price and quantity of goods and services sold. The post divided goods and services into two groups. For one group, demand increases. This group consists of essential goods and services and goods and services that are more appealing during a lockdown. For the other group, demand decreases. This is likely to be much larger and applies to a wide range of goods and services. Covid-19 not only affects demand but supply too. In almost all cases, supply is restricted by the virus or measures used to combat the virus. The post investigates how the extent of the changes in demand and supply affects quantity sold as well as the pressure exerted on price. The post also considers the impact of the virus on prices in the short, medium, and long run.
I still have several more posts to go in this series. The next post, will investigate government intervention.
Powering down my Steem account
This day has come sooner than I thought. I have been focusing my attention on Hive but I have still curated on Steem fully powered up. I was planning on waiting to see what was in the next Hardfork. I no longer think I need to wait. The actions of Steemit and the new top witnesses has convinced me that Steem no longer has much of a future. The price of Steem may remain strong for a while but it no longer offers the same user experience. In regards to voting for content, most of my voting will be automated to a few select users that I have confidence will consistently create good content.
That brings me to the end of another Actifit Report and Update. I hope you all take care and stay active during these difficult times.
