On a new date of the World Weightlifting Championship taking place in Bogotá, Colombia, the representatives of Cuba in the 81 kilograms had a decent performance by anchoring in the sixth and ten positions of that division
The best placed was Olfides Sáez, while Ariolvis Begué was the one who closed the top 10 of the test in which the Venezuelan Keydomar Vallenilla (start / 175 kg and total / 385 kg) and the Bulgarian Karlos May Nasar (envión / 220 kg) were crowned.
Olfides closed in ninth place of the start thanks to his valid efforts on 156 and 161 kilos, although he would later fail on 165. In that same movement, Begué anchored in 14th place with successful efforts with 152 and 157 kilograms, in addition to a mistake in 160 kg.
In the second part of the competition, Sáez improved and took seventh place thanks to his 201 kilos after having needed two attempts to exceed 196. For his part, Ariolvis stayed in the twelfth position thanks to his lifts of 190 and 195, despite not being able to finish with 199.
Already in the totals, which are the most valuable, Olfides added 362 to stay with the number six place, while his partner accumulated ten kilograms less (352) and finished right in that place.
Previously, the 61-kilo Arley Calderón had represented Cuba at this event of the world, who anchored in the 11th place of his category with a total of 280 kilograms, after anchoring in the 19th place of the start (120, he failed twice before 123 kg) and the sixth of the envión (155 and 160, he failed with 162 kg).
The last representative of the Largest of the Antilles who will compete this time in the coffee capital is Ayamey Medina Roca, who will be in the 81 kg category for ladies.
