Today before go home I just stopped by in the Exhibition Centre station because I saw something interesting and I wanted share with the community.
There is an artifact on display dating from World War II WWII, it is a 1000 pound bomb, which was found during excavations to build this subway stop in 2018. I still remember this news where they had to evacuate residents of this area so that explosives experts can defuse the device. It is very common to see this type of news, I remember that they found a similar artifact in a family building construction complex and another on a beach.
As you know Hong Kong was occupied by Japan forces during WWWII and it lasted for a period of 3 years; to be more exact it was from December 1941 to August 1945 and then it was returned to the UK after they surrender.
While I was looking at those pictures it reminded me about a famous phrase which you may know too.
“Those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it.” – George Santayana
In conclusion, seems we have not learned anything from the past wars; and we still having wars where innocent people dying, while the arms industry getting wealthy and rich.
