In my 20’s I spent a lot of time at the London Buddhist Centre meditating and learning about Buddhism. I worked at the Wild Cherry Vegetarian Cafe on a Saturday.
The main shrine room hasn’t changed as shown in this snapshot. I left London over 10 years ago but since lockdown, I’ve been able to “zoom” into talks, yoga classes and retreat sessions there.
This morning I did a hatha yoga & meditation class and later I joined the restorative yoga class shown. The teacher was a practicing Buddhist whom I met many years ago. She had a gentle, calming voice.
I also worked from home, whilst juggling childcare and housework. I did manage to sit for a few minutes in a deckchair in the garden whilst my daughter climbed over me. It’s been a hot day and there was a welcome breeze outside later in the day. When I do sit down in the deckchair, I always wonder why I don’t do it more often. It is how life should be, watching the children, the birds, the clouds and feeling the sunshine or breeze on my skin 💭
