There's something way off about my fitbit step count reading from yesterday, Saturday, September 14. I know for sure I was well over 10K again to end my day, but for some peculiar reason, it shows me as only walking 1500 steps. I've no idea how this happened since I wasn't actively checking my watch during the afternoon and evening, but only 1500 steps is absurd. Check out the step splits:
I didn't even leave the house at 1pm. Rather, it's when I shared a little afternoon delight with my partner. I mostly stayed about my apartment most of the afternoon cleaning up and packing for next week's camping festival. But at 7pm, we walked across our Bushwick neighborhood over to Elsewhere for an evening on its rooftop patio to hear AmTrac spin a vibey DJ set as the perfect summer afternoon faded into a spectacular evening sunset.
This is not reflected at all on fitbit, which is quite puzzling. We spent the next two hours dancing on the roof, and I didn't get credited for the 2 hours of activity either. I can't imagine what went wrong as I had been wearing the fitbit all night long. Everything with my step tracking has been a bit weird since Wednesday/Thursday when I missed the timing on my post by a minute and posted after midnight, skipping a day.
Well enough bellyaching over actifit on Hive. That's surely not going to change anything, and I'm not going to be able to get my 10K streak back without more hard work. It is kinda sad to see it go. Check out the consistency over the last month in these weekly summaries:
I would have to go back to Friday, August 16, for the last day I finished under 10K steps. Now it seems I need to do some investigating the technology to see what went wrong. I remember activating the activity tracker for dancing at 7.20pm when we got to the club and letting it run for a few hours before we left around 10pm. I had about 2.5 hours of activity which doesn't appear anywhere on my fitbit history from yesterday. It doesn't show my walk to and from the club either.
At least I took more street art pictures to share! Proof positive I was walking around my neighborhood on Saturday night.
I enjoy this peek into four different wildlife scenes painted on this row of garages, showing different color backgrounds for four different animals.
There's also this new piece adorning the outside of the XIV event space where they put on nightly spectacles of drinking and debauchery.
I really like this new piece of Native American women showing four generations working together and experiencing the cycle of life.
This final piece is a tribute to moder art, with its contemporary imagery and paper sticker medium. I loved the emphatic circles around the eyes and stylish hair design. This last pic was captured on our walk home after dinner around 11pm. Again, my steps are nowhere to be found after our walk home from our favorite local Thai restaurant, Tong.
It is about a mile walk each way from our place to Elsewhere plus the 2+ hours I spent dancing on the rooftop. All gone, oh well. Now I need to figure out what's wrong. But I do like getting into the habit of posting yesterday's actifit report in the morning after my wake up routine and affirmations. Much better than trying to rush them out before midnight.
Hopefully when I come back tomorrow I'll have some more answers about what happened to all of my step data. Until next time...
