The day started bright and clear. However, it soon clouded over again, and as we set out for a walk in Tilgate Park, the rain threatened again.
We were not put off, though, and we were actually quite glad for the fresh air. During our walk, we stopped at a refreshment cabin for a coffee.
The park has many attractions, normally open weekends and weather permitting. On this Monday morning, there was not much open and the children's playground was deserted. No surprises there!
It is good to walk in these parks in all seasons, watching the changes that happen with each passing quarter. The autumn colours are beginning to appear now, giving a clue of what is around the corner.
There are some unusual features here, including this strange sculpture. Maybe it was once a kind of floating amusement.
We enjoyed our walk today. I very often cycle through here on my regular summer rides, or just circumnavigate the park, which is quite large. There are several lakes, and a full size public golf course. Not to mention many acres of prime forest.
