Unfortunately, Google Maps only measures distance "as a crow flies" so this is the best I can do for this notional run across the Grand Canyon!
Just pretend I have Legend of Zelda Hover Boots
TIL that the Grand Canyon is on average 10 miles wide but it gets as low as 600 ft and 18 miles at it's widest.Source
It just so happens that this is what my AI assistant decided would be a notable geographic feature with a roughly equivalent distance.
As I ran more and more miles, I will ask it the same query i perhaps different ways. Maybe we can include celestial or astronomical bodies or features.
For instance, I wonder how far I will have to run to reach the equivalent of certain famous comets or asteroids. Should be fun little exercise. Already have an idea for when I reach 37 miles. Can you guess it?
I was gonna write more but I guess I will save it as this app starting to bug out on uploads. So I will save the story about the dangerous intersection that I have to cross to get from Park A to Park B for another day!
Thanks for stopping by ✌️
