Organizational culture from a more formal political and institutional approach

Going into the subject, I have seen fit to describe the four types of organizational culture from a more formal, political and institutional approach.

The following descriptions will focus on presenting a summary view of the fundamental characteristics of the four types of business organizations, considering their internal procedures, norms, rules and the management methods they strictly comply with.

- Bureaucratic Culture: These are organizations that value formality, rules and operating procedures established as the norm. Formality takes precedence over informality. Tasks, responsibilities and authority are clearly defined for all employees.

- Clan culture: In these organizations, tradition, loyalty, personal commitment, extensive socialization, teamwork, self-management and social influence prevail. In this type of culture, members share the pride of being part of the membership.

- Entrepreneurial Culture: Organizations with an entrepreneurial culture have high levels of risk-taking, dynamism and creativity. There is a high commitment to experimentation, innovation and being at the forefront.

- Marketing Culture: The marketing culture is characterized by the achievement of measurable and demanding objectives, especially those that are financial and marketing-based. The individual is held accountable for a certain level of performance, and the organization promises a specific level of compensation as a reward.

In the four types of organizations mentioned in this publication, there are overlapping conditions as they fulfill several functions to define their boundaries to position their brand, on the other hand, regardless of bureaucratic approaches to entrepreneurship or marketing, these types of organizations are obliged to foster the identity of their employees.

Transformational leadership and contextual performance
