There is interest, there are talks, and there will be A LOT of money made when CM Punk returns to WWE.
Despite a lot of the WWE hate speech that he shared when he left, making it difficult to know where his real life thoughts starts and his wrestling gimmick ends, now is the best time for Punk to return to the ring.
We are not delusional to the fact that Punk’s last few matches didn’t look so great and he’s growing in age as well as loosing his appeal to crowds that are already polarized on him (which is usually good, you want people who love him to pay to see him win and people pay to see him get shut up), but this polarity in my opinion will be based on him being able to actually be good in the ring and put on a good show.
We could see him do a short story, honestly I’m excited to see him and Cody or even LA Knight go back and forth on the mic as we will anticipate his 1st in ring match retiring back to the big stage that is WWE.
WWE will have their big Survivor Series pay per view in Chicago this year in November. Chicago is not only a great wrestling city that shows up for events and are quite lively as a crowd, the city is also the hometown of CM Punk. As those following the recent current events of both WWE and AEW, they will remember that Chicago is also the same place where AEW decided not to host CM Punk in their last pay per view there.
