I'm not exactly a morning person. Actually, I like mornings, but I like staying up late more, so the alarm usually comes too soon.
But this morning was different. My favorite music channel posted a new remix from Earth, Wind & Fire, one of my favorite bands. They exude positivity in everything they do—their sound, their lyrics, their album covers—and this song, "Shining Star," embodies that.
A shining star represents power. Possibility. Potential.
"You're a shining star
No matter who you are
Shining bright to see
What you could truly be."
Like many of their lyrics, it's deceptively simple. It sounds obvious when you first hear it, but how many of us have kept our full potential locked up inside of us? Thinking we're so powerless or that we need some guru to help us see the light, when the answers were inside of us all along?
