Hi guys
It's your girl Amzzy.
Welcome back to Amzzy's lectures.

It has being a wonderful time having classes with you.
All am aiming at is to teach us how to make or write contents that are of quality, simple to comprehend and also educative.

And that is why I had to start from the punctuation marks, down to parts of speech which is very essential if we must make the right choice of word; and finally in this aspect of amzzy's lecture we would be looking at figures of speech..

With this three parameters punctuation marks, parts of speech and figures of speech I bet you,you will have little or no difficulty in writing of articles be it poems , expository writing, narrative essay whatever just mention, with this 3 parts of English language ,you are good to go.

Fasten your seat belt;it's time to take our flight.

Figures of speech.

Figure of speech is a distinctive use of word to achieve a specific effect in a piece of writing.

The use of figurative words is often associated with literature and is employed in all forms of writing but predominantly in poetry.

At one time or the other we unconsciously make use of those figures of speech while speaking.
The use of figure of speech in writing makes articles or poetry to stand out more than the use of those regular words.

Take a look at this example
Which will you prefer in a piece of writing

The first rays of the morning
Tiptoed through the meadow
Then it dawned on me
That the sun has given out its smiles
But on the bed I still lay
Like one that got battered for ages
I never realised
That opportunity knocked at my door
By the time I rose to my feeble feet
My last chance had walked out it the door
I cried for decades.

Check this out.
The first rays of the morning
Entered my room through the window
It dawn on me that the sun has come out
I still lay on my bed
Very tired
Opportunity came to me
When I stood up
I realised that I lost the opportunity.

Which of the two poems do you prefer and why?

Leave your answer in the comment section.
Wil REALLY appreciate if you comply.
