Making Senna Herbal Tea

Hello Tea Fans!

After reading how @samstonehill did his 12 day master cleanse, I am hoping to do a shorter version of this myself, at least to start with. I think having a detox once or twice per year is good for you. Usually I like to do this in January and around Ramadan time.

Therefore I bought some Senna Tea to see how it tastes and if it works. I have never tried it before, even though I have drunk quite a few herbal teas. Inspired to use my new teapot for this very purpose, I was excited to make a post about it.

When I think of tea, I am often thinking of English Tea as you can see from my last post. I am not drinking too much English tea as it contains caffeine and I don't usually drink it for this reason, it is maybe 5 years or more now since I last drank coffee. Someone wrote me today that they reached 12 days without coffee and have the worst migraines ever, which is the usual withdrawal symptoms from coffee. After 2 weeks, you are past the worst of it then. With tea, I don't think you can have such bad side effects when you stop.

Onto making the tea:

I took 2 teaspoons of the leaves and put into the pot. It is enough for 2 cups of tea, more if you have smaller cups than I have here.

I fill my tea pot with hot water to the top and then let it brew for 10-15 minutes before trying the tea.

With my tea ready, I am good to go!

The final step is to add something sweet to eat with it. I have gone for a german gingerbread called Lebkuchen and some small marzipan chocolates which accompany the tea very well.

How are you making your tea?

What do you like to eat with it?

Thanks for reading.
