Water lilies in the Moon Light.... Entry for the month's theme

Hello everyone.

I hope we all are doing well.

Here I am with my participation in the DIYHUB community contest, the theme of which is MOON

For this contest, I chose to make a painting, and here is what I have come up with.

The full moon night. The reflection of moonlight is in the water. Some water lilies are floating.

To prepare this painting I required
• pencil, eraser
• compass
• markers
• water colours

Here is the step by step process how I reached to the final product

First, I divided the paper nearly into two halves vertically by drawing a line.

On the upper side, I drew a circle to make a full moon.

In the lower half, I spotted three points where I had to make water lily.

One flower was right in the bottom center, aligned with the moon. It was the biggest one.

Out of the other two one was in the left and the other was in the right.

The images below display how I made the flower.

After drawing two more flowers with pencil, I outlined them with markers and erased the pencil drawing.

Then I painted the flowers and their leaves with water colours.

The center one is painted with pink, while the other two are painted with a mixture of red and pink.

Likewise, the leaf of the central one is painted with light green while that of other two with a mixture of dark and light green.

Afterwards, I painted the sky with black colour leaving the moon space.

Then, I painted the vertical central area of water with white paint to give the effect of moonlight reflection.

The movement of brush was kept vertical.

Likewise, the water was painted with vertical movement of the brush. The colour combination used was black and blue.

Finally the painting was ready.
